Poderi Crisci

We booked the long lunch as we were staying a beautiful Air bnb next door and obviously needed to try Poderi Crisci! We were greeted with energy and very welcomed at the start but as soon as we declined the house Pinot Grissio as we weren’t in the mood for bubbly and asked for the cocktail recommendations our server said ‘I don’t recommend any of those to start’. So we obviously didn’t order any… We ended up getting a wine and a ginger beer, then the service declined for our table and we weren’t getting a wine for each course and it seemed we weren’t worth the servers time he was very attentive to the tables around us. The food was ok, the lasagne was the only stand out dish, the tiramisu was too soggy but the flavour was good. We still spent almost $300 but it left a bitter taste in our mouth due to the service, won’t be returning, there are way too many amazing places on the island that are worth spending your time at more than Poderi Crisci.

We had a 5 course degustation booked. A warm and lovely welcome, their grounds are peaceful and serene. Really encourages you to relax. The waiter assigned to us was nice. We had an initial confusion as we had some dietary restrictions which they didn't listen to fully. Had a pescitarian, 2 that didn't eat beef, and I that didn't eat pork. But got there in the end. Had our request for wine pairing disappear so we lost 1 pairing. The food was nice but we noticed the portion sizes weren't all the same, some of us definitely got more than others. The wines paired were delicious, the food was great. I'd be interested to see what their long lunches are like but perhaps a future trip.

An idyllic, Italian inspired vineyard and restaurant with wonderful wine tastings, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. The service was top-notch and we enjoyed getting slightly tipsy over the course of our wine tasting. Wine tastings are free if you purchase a bottle afterwards.

We booked for the Long Lunch recently & were very much looking forward to it.. a family get together. A warm welcome is very important and I believe that a bit of banter can lift a dining experience. For me, its not just about food & wine. So I felt quite disappointed that all this was lacking - barely a smile or remark was exchanged from the Maitre d' or other servers the entire afternoon. The food was delicious as were the wines we sampled - but I felt that there was a big push on ordering alcohol. That afternoon there was a strong wind blowing into the restaurant and so the outdoor curtains were in place. A customer at another table asked for them to be raised as she was feeling unwell. So we all froze... Despite several requests from other guests to close them again, the matter wasn't addressed. So all in all, a pretty chilly afternoon at Poderi Crisci.

Great customer service with extra mile thank you for the manager Antionio Crisci and his excellent host who explained the wines in great detail with humour and aplomb, we loved the experience at Poderi Crisci today

Really beautiful, excellent food especially the pasta!! Forgot to take photo of the pasta, the tiramisu is also outstanding! Will definitely recommend if you want some real good Italian food in Waiheke Island!

Absolutely fantastic place! Such a stunning venue and amazing staff. We were well taken care of as soon as we arrived over an hour before they even opened by James and his capable and friendly crew! Their wine was fantastic accompaniment to our long lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! Turn up, sit down, enjoy the ambiance and let the restaurant take care of the rest. It doesn't get any better than that! Thank you James and team, we had an amazing time and will definitely be returning.

I heartily recommend Poderi Crisci. Friends and I had the long lunch. We sat outside and enjoyed the delicious and thoughtfully prepared food and matched wine. I can't wait to go back.

Delicious Food, Attentive Service and Beautiful Location. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had, so light and fluffy. The steak was the perfect size and the sides it came with were delicious. Such a nice vibe when sitting outside.

When lunch isn't a rush and total enjoyment is the goal... Then this is the place. Delicious, flavoursome fare, presented perfectly, with accompanied wines.. No rush, the hours pass without concern as each course is consumed with delight and satisfaction. A perfect lunch in a perfect location.
