Just had the best stay here at The Pines. Camp itself is positioned perfectly with its proximity to town, a very short walk. The footy field right beside is handy for running the pooch.nDarren and Katrina are the best hosts, very friendly and dedicated to ensuring everyone is happy and having a good time. The grounds and amenities are all very well cared for.nCheers Team, we will be back!!
We stayed one night on a powered site at Pines Holiday Park and were impressed. This is a traditional holiday park with clean facilities that, while older, are perfectly functional and tidy.nThe campground is adjacent to a large playground and rugby grounds, with direct access right from the park, which is a great feature.nnHaving stayed at nearly all the campgrounds in Hanmer, I can confidently say this one offers the best value. It's about half the price of Top 10 and an easy 10-minute stroll to the pools and town centre.nnThe hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent, great for kids, and offers a dog-friendly environment. As regular visitors to Hanmer, we will certainly book again.
Craig and Katrina are awesome hosts and really helped us get to know the locals. The cabin we stayed in for 2 weeks was comfortable, warm and only a short walk from the village. Their advice and hospitality was greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
I tried to book online, but had difficulty as it was trying to charge me twice the amount as I had gone into the site on two seperate occasions. It wouldn't allow me to delete one booking to adjust the double amount showing what I had to pay in my cart. Due to not being able to proceed further, I emailed the owner. They replied via email and were adamant that they hadn't received a request for my booking. To avoid further confusion and to secure the booking for my dates, I rang to discuss my failings with booking online and the fact that I hadn't proceeded with my booking as I really didn't want to pay double the amount. I was met with extreme rudeness and complete misunderstanding. The woman sounded harassed and not for listening to my explaination of my online troubles. At no time did she offer to book me over the phone, or politely redirect my misunderstandings. It transpired that all she needed to say to me to explain the websites error was that I needed to wait for the 10 minute booking to time out and re try. She could not understand why I hadn't just proceeded with the doubled up amount, nor that I was concerned that I was going to be charged twice the amount for my booking. She rudely told me that had I proceeded that I wouldn't have been charged. However, how was I to know that without going ahead with the booking? She was not listening to me and kept talking over me trying to explain that they had not received my request, when I was tryibg to explain that I never made one because I didnt want to be charged twice. Maybe that's why they rely on bookings via a website as her customer service is atrocious.nAnd yes, there are always two sides to every story. All I was trying to do was book 2 nights accommodation for my wee family which resulted in a rude conversation for which there was no need. I felt like I was being scolded by my Granny!nI hope you learn from this experience and treat potential customers with kindness and not rudeness in the future.
I attempted to reserve a booking for my family and I for my mum’s 50th birthday, for 12 people for 2x powered sites.nI proceeded to receive somewhat reasonable then quite exaggerated ongoing questioning about the purpose of our trip and who was coming, which I happily answered as I wanted to ensure I was organised in accordance to the park’s requests and needs for organisation.nMy family and I live in different countries and have not been together in years, so this camping trip was a special occasion to be together again doing an activity we love.nPines Holiday Park proceeded to cancel our booking 2 days before our stay, stating they don’t take bookings for “party groups” no matter the age of the person, as they have had issues in the past where they have had to call police. They then advised they will cancel the booking at no charge as they have the discretion to do so.nI advised we were not coming with the intention to party, just to be together as a family and enjoy the rare occasion of being able to be gather in the same place.nIt was very unprofessional to assume we would be wasting the effort of travelling hours to their campsite to cause any issues or party when we simply wanted to relax, to cook, play games and enjoy the scenery.nWe also booked powered sites, so we would have been using our own tents and vehicle accomodation instead of cabins, so there would have been no risk of issues with rooms either?nWe had never even booked at this campsite before, so I am unsure where their presumptions of our behaviour have come from. To proceed to cancel the booking under the guise of blaming other peoples’ poor behaviour is terrible service.nI would not recommend this to anyone if you want to enjoy family time.
