Quaint little shop, good for a quick in and out for pies and pastries. The steak and cheese pie had large tender pieces of beef and the pastry was beautiful, however a bit heavy on the pepper, but still very enjoyable. The lolly cake I had was spot on too. Enjoyed my purchase at the local park, yum.
Amazing!! Take a bus fromnDowntown Wellington to walk along Cook’s Strait and have one of these pies. From when you walk in you smell how delicious they are. We had the supa dupa and the vegetarian one. Already want to go back!
Best pies in Wellington. Cakes and slices are good too. Pie fillings and sizes of cakes and slices are generous. Also offers family size fish pies,lasagne etc
Had a streak and cheese and wife a mince and cheese. Not impressed quality is not great these days and at eight buck each pie not good value. Mince and cheese was very stogy and hardly any hint of cheese and mince was like a thick paste. Steak was ok but again lacking any signs or taste of decent cheese. Sorry guys not what it used to be won’t be back. Also notice island bay bakery is back and they were always very good.
Lasagna Pie, Unfortunately this is the worst pie I’ve ever had. Couldn’t even finish it. Not really a lasagne pie, there was barely any bolognese sauce, couldn’t taste any cheese sauce and the pasta was just overcooked gluggly spirals on top. Very deceiving pie because it tasted nothing like it.
