OUSA Clubs & Societies Centre

About

We are the hub for all things recreation on campus. We house a variety of clubs and societies, provide an awesome recreation programme and alongside all of that have some epic, free multipurpose spaces students can use for a variety of activities.

Story

The Clubs and Societies Centre or "Clubs and Socs" (as often referred to) was built in 1979. It's original purpose was to provide facilities for our clubs and societies (hence the name) but soon grew into something much more unique. Over the years the centre has become a hub for all students, irrelevant of whether they belong to an affiliate group or not.

Mission

The OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre (alongside OUSA more generally) seeks to facilitate the ultimate student experience. The Clubs and Societies Centre does this by providing ample and diverse opportunities to recreate on campus.

Products

The Clubs and Societies Centre reception sells discounted sanitary products and DCC rubbish bag alongside scrumptious frozen meals.

There is a vending machine on site that stocks a range of drinks and snacks.

The above products can be purchased with cash, EFTPOS or credit.

$3 lunches operate from 12pm to 2pm daily. You can pay via cash or eftpos.

"Home of Clubs and Societies, Recreation Programme, Room Hire, $4 Lunch, Free Breakfast and more. Note we are closed on all Public Holidays and have reduced hours over summer school and the semester and mid-semester breaks. Reduced hours are 11:30am to 7pm weekdays only."

Such an amazing team to work with, vibrant individuals, very professional and pleasant to work alongside. Special shoutout to Ingrid, Jason and Angus. Look forward to working with you guys again.
Amazing facilities, programmes for students and the staff are pretty amazing too. Go in and have a look!!
Great facility for the students. And hosted the omsa food night. Bagus!
Such a cool place! Very friendly staff at the front desk, the facilities are top-notch, good covid restrictions in place, clean, tidy and very well designed.
Friendly staff with fantastic support offered cheap student meals and loads of activities for all. Highly recommended
Good free breakfast and 3 dollar lunch available here. Plenty of great facilities like study and music rooms with pianos and guitars can be booked along with sauna, exercise, dance and multipurpose rooms. Other than these many activities take place here. One of the best facilities of Otago
They host 4 dollar lunches which is definitely a must. Student clubs are pretty cool too.
Pretty decent but not perfect accessability, nice gender neutral bathroom, free condoms on the front desk, sometimes they have free bread. It's where I get my critics and it's a p reliable venue
Walk through the doors, and dive into recreation at Otago. Friendly welcoming staff will facilitate your interest in any club or society, and can show you the programs. Or you can hire a room here for a small fee for music, study etc. Lunchtime dining is also available here most weekdays starting from $3 a plate during the university semester. All welcome.
Excellent facilities, recreation courses, and a wide range of clubs and societies for students to join! Clubs and Socs is an essential part of student life in Dunedin, and the staff who make it happen are particularly great
