Lovely stay as always. We will continue to stay at the Oceanside. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing us with all we need. The one bedroom unit we stayed in this time had a lovely sea view and it was very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need, a decent sized fridge freezer, microwave and stove. A must do is to enjoy a spa after a busy day or climb up the mount.
You are purely paying for location at this place. Receptionist and staff very lovely and welcoming but Rooms are outdated; lighting is very dime and yellow, the middle of the room feels dark, room has a musty chlorine smell, very stiff sliding door, found dirty sock under bed, the expectation to clean dishes and take out rubbish is silly for a "5star". A very good parking garage, friendly staff and good location save this place from a 1 star.
Great location. Service was exceptional, they were fast to organize after hours check in when I was delayed. The only thing I found to be a bit strange was either you clean the room of rubbish or face a charge of up to $50. Never encountered anything like it. Walkability: It's very close proximity to the mount maunganui walk and very close to the beachfront cafes.
The receptionist was lovey however, the room was not clean, it had a yuck smell of urine that was so strong. Old furniture, it is not the towers as I expected according to the website. Have asked for a refund as I left after 10 minutes there was absolutely no way I would sleep there. No.Rooms: 1/5
When it comes to the view this is very hard to beat. Personally it was astonishing. Its a place you will come back to you. Too relax and have a wine on that balcony is just heavenly too meRooms: 5/5
Appalling. Went through pre check in the day before as they mentioned they're unavailable to assist in person after 5pm, was told I would be emailed or text at 5pm on the day how to get my key and what room I'd be in. 5:30 arrives and no contact. I phoned and spoke to an abrupt and sharp man who argued with me that I hadn't done the pre check in, I repeated that I had and was advised I'd be contacted at 5pm on the day with the details. Anyway, he finally sent the text with the lock box number, I said we'd arrive at 6:30 to collect the key from the box. We get there, no key in the box. Spent 15 minutes phoning both numbers but no one answered. Waiting outside in the cold and dark. Eventually he came out, handed me the key and argued that he was helping another customer. No apology, just arguing. Room was dated, dirty and messy. Green corrosion on the shower head nozzles. Cheap hand soap dispenser in shower. Aggressive signs everywhere threatening fines if you did not adhere. Noone on reception for check out in the morning either. Will not be back.
Unfortunately we will not be returning. I booked the 'Honeymoon Suite' as it was called hoping for a beautiful special experience. However what we got was a really dated room which was actually quite filthy and needed a good clean. There was mould in the bathroom and the tiled floor was very grubby. We booked for 3 nights and there was only 1 small bottle of shampoo and body wash for us The room was not serviced the entire time we were there and we had to ask for more toilet paper. There are signs everywhere regarding fines if you dont remove your rubbish and if you dont do your dishes . I was beginning to wonder if I was required to wash the towels, Sheets and remake the bed. The only thing going for this accommodation is the location.
Great location. Our shower was covered in black mold, we notified the reception staff who after firstly arguing with us and telling us it will just be marks because it was cleaned earlier, then told us they would send someone to take care of it. That was the last we heard. Several light bulbs were blown but by the time we needed them on the reception was no longer manned and no answer. Upon checking out we again raised the issue of the shower and were brushed off with a flippant attitude. Would not recommend staying here.
Unbelievable. I oppose your response as it is false. The lovely receptionist which I might add is the only thing going for you! Stated to let reception know in the morning if you would like to stay the following night. We preceeded to contact you the next morning however there was no one manning reception from 9:30am until 10:30am. We called the emergency number yet to receive the most unbelievable and rude response. Given the responses of other reviews and the defending responses you have, I am not surprised your rating is as low as it is!
Awesome hospitality. The staff was very accomodating and i enjoyed the stay. Do recommend to stay at this place. Im sure i will.Rooms: 5/5
