One of the must visit spots if you visit Oamaru. We only had half day there was never regret spending that 15 mins to explore this wonderful site!

Oamaru Lookout Point is definitely a place to watch the sunrise! It would be a sin to miss this place when you visit Oamaru!! It's breathtaking up there!
It's a nice lookout, but some trees seem to be strategically placed to block the best views of the town from the carpark, so expect to have to get out and walk a little to appreciate the vantage point properly!
As i understood, its an earthquake or tsunami evacution point as well. Pretty cool.nnIts right on top of a hill so the views are naturally spectacular. Its like looking down on a portion of gmap.. lol. U can see the beach, the breakwater, the wharfs and all. A good place to let the dogs free, to play.nIt would have been a nice place to bite into a sandwich or read, if there were more benches around.n:nnLiked.
