Hotel was busy with large groups and our room although quiet was so hot and difficult to cool down.nNo air conditioning at all and we had to ask for a much needed fan.nBathroom was good with a powerful shower.nHotel restaurant was closed due to large group booking but we found an amazing restaurant next door called Stokers who cook in oak barrels. The best port ribs and salmon we have had.
We had an apartment and it was great! Spacious, big living room and bedroom. Nice balcony with a great view of the hills. Nice kitchen, the frying pan was shit but that's always the case, bought a new one and didn't regret it 1 day.nnBest gym on the South Island!! New equipment, great set up...made us so happy to get a decent workout innnWould stay here again.
Wouldn’t recommend staying here.nnThe facilities are great and that’s about it.nnStarted off by arriving for the 2pm the check in time that was noted and emailed to be told check in isn’t till 3pm and told our room wasn’t ready. I showed the receptionist what had been sent and were offered no apology just that the website will need updating.nnThe room wasn’t cleaned to a standard with black hair still in the bath and bathroom.nWhen getting into the bed the bottom sheet hadn’t been put on incorrectly so the bottom 40cm was straight mattress protector.nnIt’s also hot in central at the moment and there is no AC in the room. This meant for the stuffy night sleep. The shower head is also very low so good luck if your taller getting under it! The pressure was poor and the temperature then didn’t like to stay constant switching to cold constantly.nnWe stayed in a “Guest Room”. The room just felt like it had been done on the cheap in comparison to the rest of the facilities sadly.nnWe were really looking forward to staying here and were definitely disappointed when the room didn’t match the facilities. Not worth the price point
This is the seventh time we have stayed here, and we’ll never get sick of it. The kids thoroughly enjoy coming here and make good use of the pools and hot tubs. The gym facility is incredible. And I just have to mention that the house keeping was top notch! We got a mid stay apartment clean, and it was as impeccable as the first day we got there. A special mention to Umita in reception… you are a real asset to Oakridge Resort! Your personality and charisma radiates. Looking forward to coming back here next year!
This complex looks good on the surface but the room experience was below average.nThe bathroom door wouldn’t close, the heated towel rail didn’t work, wanted to dry my swimwear the shower was blocked and completely flooded which wasn’t the first time as that’s why the door wouldn’t close, the large ranch slider needs the runners replaced you could hardly open it, the bar and restaurant was closed too while it’s the Xmas holidays.nThere were lots of other small things that let this place down in the room, the receptionist response was surprised when I said the shower doesn’t drain, she apologised but our room was low quality compared to other places we stayed. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend.nOn the upside the grounds and pool complex were very nicely presented.
