Definitely worth a visit. Awesome hosts. If you are unsure what to get, they can recommend a dish to your liking. Salt and pepper squid and green beans with garlic are my go to. Anything you order from the menu is bound to have you returning. Picture of the salt and pepper squid and green beans almost destroyed. Edit - additional pics from further visits.
Fabulous, fresh food made by an amazing chef who hails from Shanghai. The wait staff were friendly, helpful and informative about the dishes we chose. A generous glass of wine, too. Top marks!
Great food at great prices! Authentic food and super tasty. The staff don't speak English very well. Dinner for 8 adults came to under $200. The Peking duck was amazing and you have to try the sweet and sour pork. It's good to chose a few dishes and share between everyone.
Bad service, overpriced food and their soup is a disgrace to Chinese dish. The soup they served is totally cold. We asked them to re-heat. But they came back with soup that is barely warm. The broth is not thick as the dish should be, it is bland and taste of detergent. Having said that, I must say their braised pork belly is good. If only it could be hotter. When I feedback on the standard of their soup, there was no apologies, only pure defensiveness. Can give this restaurant a pass.
The food was beautiful, filling and tasteful. The duck was out of this world and not greasy the soup broth was very tasty. Staff were very pleasing for customers. Especially as we were late....definitely recommending for other customers to eat there.....
We had a good Christmas Dinner at the NZ supreme gourmet house! The service was wonderful and the food excellent. We were three people and shared three different meals. I will come here again if I cross Rotorua again. Greetings from Germany Vincent :
Such a great restaurant, have been a few times now and definitely will be back again. The staff are lovely and the food is really good, especially the wonton soup. Really enjoy going there. Highly recommend.
We have a bad experience in this restaurant. The soup is bland and in fact we have to add soy sauce in it. Also, the chinese lady in the counter is not customer friendly. I have been to several restaurants here in Rotorua and this is the first time I have encountered such lady with a very bad attitude.

Delicious food and beautiful staff. Ordered the chicken cashew and it was amazing. I am very pleased with my experience at gourmet house Rotorua.
