Modern, artsy and comfy decor. A Good value for money contemporary Italian restaurant. There was a little waiting time but acceptable for a wood-fired cuisine. Pizza was subtle and easy to savor. Anchovies as a pizza topping, was unique but did sit well with us. Wait staff were pleasant. Definitely recommend if you are in Rotorua and crave something no fancy Italian food.
Mussels used minced garlic from a jar. Carbonate tasted nice but a little heavy on the cream. Margarita pizza's tomato sauce was good, not too acidic but the garlic was not fresh and tasted bitter.
Yummy food - very big wait. Champagne arrived after the main.. Unfortunately they appeared very short staffed - only had two team members on duty - both whom were lovely and super sweet. Sadly Families were leaving due to orders not being taken. Obviously needed at least two more people to help ie greet guests, order drinks, bar staff and someone taking and delivering food. We felt sorry for the two people working - they looked very stressed. Our recommendation - they should be honest and authentic, explain there is a wait on food and drinks and perhaps have complimentary garlic bread or bread and butter to tide kids over to the mains arrived. Kid-friendliness: Looked very kid friendly and safe.
Wine was old - open at least three days, maybe a week. Cured meats looked and tasted like what you buy at Countdown. Whole antipasti platter was subpar. Crab pasta was extremely over seasoned, way too much salt pepper chilli and parmesan. It's a cozy and well decorated spot but the food was disappointing.
Service is good. Food tastes below average. My fettuccine tastes very bland and chicken barely has flavor in it. Don’t recommend.
Pork Mains was very salty, not delicious, same as with Pizza, and soggy too I rarely dislike resto food. Indian looking staff guy was ok, the chubby lady waitress appeared unhappy at work, not rude, but not nice either sorry, need to mention, but makes a difference w/customer experience. Maybe just a busy Friday.Food: 2/5
A little pricey but delicious. I had the special clam spaghetti and it was lovely. Cocktails were ok.
Absolutely loved our time here. The atmosphere was relaxed and awesome, food was so delicious and our waiter was the best! Thank you to two the lovely males who served our table of 12 tonight. Food was pretty nice. We ordered Europa fettuccine, scotch fillet, lamb and pizza and everything was delicious and not expensive. It took over 40 min to arrive though and staff were really apologetic offering free drinks. Place needs a better atmosphere...light is hard and walls aren't interesting. Still a good experience.Food: 5/5
Urban Gusto was absolutely outstanding! The service provided was exceptionally friendly and prompt, while the cocktails were not only delicious but also offered a fantastic range of choices. The food itself deserves five stars without a doubt. The Fettuccine Europa, in particular, was an unparalleled pasta dish that left me speechless with its remarkable taste. I cannot emphasize enough how much I recommend this place. Our decision to dine here has brought us immense joy!
