Having stayed here for 3 nights we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Nugget Point Hotel is a unique hotel with alot of history. Looks wise yes its not in top shape but its embarking on a transformation that we can hope will bring it back to the amazing beauty it once was, for those that can appreciate this it has breathtaking views to match. The staff were awesome so welcoming and friendly, nothing was an issue. Ethan and his team are fantastic and I look forward to returning again soon. Thank you for making it memorable for us!
Went to nugget spa - was not informed before reaching the venue that sauna which was one of the services we booked for was broken. The male receptionist did not seem to think it was courtesy to let us know before we arrived and said “what can I do now ? I can’t fix it , can I?” I thought this was inappropriate. The female receptionist was new but much better at communicating and handling the situation. I understand there can be issues with the facility but informing clients beforehand that the service they booked for is not working or at least acknowledging your mistake would be appreciated. Thanks
Enjoyed our stay and had a great weekend would definitely come again but place is tired and in need of maintenance we don’t feel it’s as luxurious as it used to be definitely a lot of room for improvement. Rooms were clean and tidy and stunning view absolutely well with paying for a river view suite. Minor cleaning details that could just make it a lot better - Skirting boards and door handles were dirty, scuff marks on walls, bathroom floors dusty, hairdryer didn’t work. Spa for use seems to no longer exist but can use one for $99 for an hour, steam room wasn’t working for our stay. Pool and sauna is great. It’s a shame as only 2 of the 4 facilities we wanted to use were available. Overall was a great stay but probably could get a more luxurious stay elsewhere for the price. Rooms: Spacious great views
Our stay at Nugget Point was an emergency booking at Easter. We wouldn't normally book outside Qtown, however we were glad we did. We had a king room with the most fabulous views. The bed was supremely comfortable. Room facilities were great although the decor was dated and in need of maintenance. We couldn't fault the staff we dealt with and accommodated a late check out. The hotel's facilities were awesome although we didn't get to use them. We will definitely book again to stay in the future with friends.
Booked a private spa as a present and had paid over the phone a month prior. When our friends arrived they were also charged for the service. Was terrible service as they expected a relaxing paid for experience only to be charged again and then question if we paid in the first place. Would not recommend purchasing an experience as a gift as the service will taint the gift.
Hotel was very dated… let it down a bit as we paid a lot to stay… staff were exceptional, everywhere was super clean and tidy, view was phenomenal, breakfasts were fantastic! Heated pool was a bit chilly for our liking, beds were very comfy! And they refreshed the room and made the beds for us during the day- an excellent stay !Rooms: 4/5
Wow Wow Wow - 10/10. Great location, EXTRAORDINARY views, very clean room and bathroom, wonderful bonuses such as pool, sauna, coldplunge, movie room, squash court and gym, plus friendly and accommodating staff!! The common areas look so elegant, it was magical. I booked the cheapest garden view, ground level room and was expecting an average experience, due to the mixed reviews I'd read. But, wow, my room was generous in size and very clean. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, even the carpet was soft. I had a huge TV, a couch, kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate selections, and plenty of heating. My room was near main walking corridor and the drive way - but I didn't hear anything in my room. Honestly, I was super happy and felt very safe here. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed that the inhouse kitchen was closed for dinner - but this only gave me the opportunity to explore the area. Within 200meters from the hotel, there are plenty of pubs, pizza and restaurants to choose from - safe to walk to at night. So I had enough to choose from, and it honestly added to the joy of the experience, in the end. I took full advantage of the facilities as they opened early and closed late, so there was plenty to do. Even with my room not having a lake view, I still got to enjoy the mountain/ lake scenery from the common areas such as the brilliant dinning room. The staff were helpful when I was engaging with them and allowed me to stow my bag as I did a day activity, and they even reheated my leftover pizza for me, haha. 15min drive to the city and airport, and close to activities. Thankyou the NuggetPoint Hotel and your team for creating such happy memories for me on my trip to NewZealand :
Thought hard on how to score this. We've stayed here 5 times. Based on previous experiences.. I'd score them a 2-star now. However, other guests would be looking at it without knowing what it used to be like.. so I bumped it up to a 3. We used to love the fact that it had a complimentary hot spa. Now gone. Instead, there's a $99 an hour hot-tub outside. We used to like to get drinks at the bar or coffee and food and sit in the lounge area with the lovely view. It was shut off the whole weekend. Only open for dinner 3-hours, 2 nights a week and they couldn't even do that while we were there. Steam room wasn't working. Asked for extra towels for the pool.. and there weren't any for a few hours till more arrived. Shower pressure wasn't good. All minor details probably.. but they just add up to an overall impression of very mediocre. The rooms are spacious.. but the place is tired. Service is good.
We stayed at the nugget point hotel for 7 days .The view was amazing however the cleanliness wasn't.Both my friend and I got bed bugs which has never happened before at multiple locations I have stayed around the world tried to reach out to management via email no response. My card for my door had to be reactivated daily what a nuisance. We am still recovering from the bites a month later . Such a beautiful location which unfortunately the standard of cleaning doesn't match completely unsatisfied after such a amazing trip in queenstown.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nugget Point Hotel in Queenstown. We stayed in the garden view room for the first 3 nights and then added a 4th night and got the river view room which was SO beautiful! If booking would highly recommend booking a river view room - so worth it! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute drive to Queenstown town centre, with free parking on site. Beds are comfy and shower excellent. Rooms are super spacious. Would highly recommend staying here!
