Noodle Canteen

Our family favourite dining place. Nice food and reasonable price. They shop even has a big table for a big family lunch/dinner/special occasion pre-book. Owner Jason and wife Jessica are nice and friendly. They even serve dishes out of the menu upon request. Living in South AKL and would frequently go there for a meal. Highly recommended.

Have ordered the vegetables in oyster sauce to go with the chicken I have prepared at home. For $15, I've received cabbage in oyster sauce. Pretty disappointed as I was expecting a mix of fresh veggies and not this sadly looking cabbage pile. Taste of the oyster sauce is good, though but yeah, definitely not what I expected.

Noodle Canteen Takapuna serves authentic Asian food and the service is fantastic! It's our go-to for quick and easy take-aways. The team are fast, friendly and the location generally has parking available on the street nearby. The only reason we haven't given a 5* on food, is sometimes it's great and other times good. A few times it hasn't had enough sauce, but otherwise - awesome! Cheers, Rowe

This is best place to enjoy authentic Cantonese cuisine some call it Hong Kong style. We have been have great meals since 2014 or so. Jason is a very cheerful host and always smiling when serving the customer. The price is a classified as "affordable" for poor Uni student like me. Food here are serviced warm and quick, the restaurant have ample seats and table. On top of that, this place is always clean and tiny. I highly recommend you all to tray out some of the yummy Cantonese dishes at Noodle Canteen, Takapuna. Cheers and take care Jason and crew members!

HONEY CHICKEN! This is the first place in New Zealand that I have found honey chicken similar to what I am used to in the US. The portions are fair and the prices are reasonable. The fried rice was very tasty and delicious. But the highlight here is definitely the honey chicken. I will go out of my way to come back to this noodle canteen!

Unfortunately they messed up my order, and gave me the wrong protein. The chicken and crispy pork with soup noodles was disappointing, both proteins were overly salted and very chewy and dry. The only good thing was the soup and noodles. Just disappointed it did not taste like true authentic HK food.

Very friendly boss is there, he remembers what I always eat My favorite food is pork on rice. The food quantities are really enough, sometimes I take away one meal for two times of meals. Very tasty, and nice cheap price.

Amazing, authentic rice and noodle dishes…decent portion sizes and generous with their toppings, best I’ve had outside of Hong Kong

This is a restaurant that provides very good Cantonese food and Thailand food. Although it's very small, it's good value for money.

If you order a dish with prawns in it. Make sure they actually put prawns in it. Not one single prawn in #4 dish.
