Nomads Queenstown Hostel

Great location, nice staff and clean room service.nnThe facilities are quite old, not that solid bed, the sockets are quite away from your bed, the lockers are mini and some of them are broken. But the toilet and bathroom are separate, which is useful in busy time.nnIt is kind of noisy but my ear plugs works. This is not a problem for me.nnSo it could be a good choice if location is important for you.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, and I understand what staying in a hostel means. However, this place was genuinely frustrating and well below acceptable standards.nnThe dorms feel designed purely to maximize profit. I stayed in a 10-bed room with extremely cramped L-shaped bunk beds. The top bunk had such a low ceiling it was almost impossible to sit up, and another guest’s feet were just a few centimeters from my head. There was basically no personal space.nnThere is no proper storage for backpacks, only four power outlets for ten people none near the beds, and constant competition just to charge a phone.nnSeveral facilities didn’t work: the sauna advertised was inaccessible, multiple showers and toilets were out of order, and the kitchen is far too small for the number of guests.nnOn top of that, charging 5 NZD for a towel feels excessive considering the high price of the dorm. Wi-Fi was unreliable, especially in the rooms.nnI also had a booking issue when trying to extend my stay, creating an unnecessary two-day gap. Compensation was offered, but the situation should not have happened in the first place.nnI wasn’t expecting luxury — just basic livable conditions. Unfortunately, this hostel doesn’t provide that.

The room is spacious, door is digital lock via apps, aircond no remote, you must use the apps to contact reception for turning it on/off, kind of weird, the car parking is a huge headache for me this town. I must find free parking with 5min+ walking distance, take note if you are driving. Water dispenser available at lobby. You will hear some music from the Bar on Saturday night, I didn’t hear it Sunday night. But the room have smoke smell come from nowhere.

I loved my stay at Nomads Queenstown. It was central to everything I needed and bonus of having a spectacular view from my dorm. I stayed in a female 4 dorm room which has a separate bathroom and toilet. There are bars in the laneway downstairs that have extremely LOUD music until 3 am which I was warned about prior to arrival. You will need ear plugs. !!!!nThe kitchen setup is large with plenty of room, heaps of fridge space and shelves or hooks for dry foods.nStaff are all lovely and very helpful with their own travel stories to share. I stayed here for the Queenstown Marathon and it was perfect. Thanks to everyone.

Great location, everything is being cleaned very often, the staff is friendly. Check out at 11 is very graceful.nThe kitchen is way too small for all of the people living there, the beds are not great, no privacy, no power outlets. There was usually some drain blocked in the bathrooms, not the best hostel in Queenstown. Prices are okay, but not great
