I always walked past No.1 Pancake witnessing the long queue along the pavement which discouraged me from buying/ trying, when they were still operating in CBD. Was stoked to stumble across them now reopened in Albany, when I was searching for my appointment venue on google map. They were literally just 2 minutes away from where my appointment was. Online order was made with pickup slot available in 10-15 minutes. Walked in to pick up and my order was all ready waiting for me. The owner/ operator was awesome and thoughtful, letting me know that I could help myself to the sauces in lil takeaway containers . Had it not been raining heavily I would have chosen to sit outside and dug into the hot pancakes then and there to admire the charming shop decor. Alas I had to bring them home after 45 minutes drive and the cakes were barely warm. Nevertheless the pancakes were still to die for! I ordered one savoury beef cheese and one sweet red bean. Generous fillings and not oily! Taste-wise : full of flavour yet not overpowering. Everything was well balanced and done to perfection! Now I finally know why people were willing to stand in the line for their pancakes! I will definitely come back for more when opportunity arise and try some other flavours. Parking: Easy parking
Incredible! What a unique little eatery in Rosedale. I tried both a savoury and a sweet pancake; ham & cheese, and cinnamon & brown sugar. Both were equally as tasty as one another and clearly made with decent ingredients. I highly recommend giving this place a go, it’s one of those eateries that once you hear about it and give it a go it becomes an addiction and a place you eagerly want to pass onto others to try. Extremely friendly customer service from whom I presume are the owners. Must support these little gems.
I went to no1 pancake today and ordered the pineapple, ham and cheese. The last time I went was over ten years ago when I was a student in the city. I highly recommend this place. Owners are still nice, passionate.
Service was warm and family friendly. You can see them prepare your pancakes. Tried the choco pancakes while hot and wow. Be back to taste more on the menu list.Food: 4/5
This authentic Korean pancake shop serves popular Auckland dish both savoury and sweet. Perfect to enjoy a breezy afternoon after lunch or for snacking. They hv moved to Rosedale but it’s worth the trip! Support this family owned business.Recommended dishesChocolate Filled Pancake
This place makes some good Hotteok Korean pancakes. The staff here are extremely lovely! I came here and ordered the chicken &cheese, and the redbean hotteok as those were suggested from the staff. Loved how the Hotteok batter was really crispy and soft. Redbean hotteok had a really nice redbean flavour, the redbean paste kinda has starchy texture when eating it which I love! Chicken and cheese filling consist of cheese, chicken, cabage and carrots. It all tasted really well together. Really love the cheesy and cabbage flavours coming through when eating it. Great snack for a great price. First time trying Korean style pancakes and we opted for the Cheese and Beef, and Cheese and potato. Both were great and ready within a few minutes. Interesting to watch how they make and cook them in front of you too.
No.1 Pancake is absolutely delicious. I am sad I never got to try them when they were located in town but their food is so good! The beef especially is my favourite but we have tried all the other flavours and they always great. Big fan and will go whenever I pass by!Food: 5/5
