Story

Nikau Valley Horse Treks is nestled in a scenic sheltered valley 10 minutes from Whakatane. We take all ages and experience for horse rides over farm, through bush and forest, and into the hills that give great views over Whakatane to the offshore Islands.
We use Morgan cross horses bred and trained here.
Ride where and when, ride as slow or as fast, ride as far or as near as you like.

A wonderful and unique experience. John was a great guide and put a lot of effort into making it relaxed and enjoyable. Also learned a lot from him, and loved that all his horses were ridden bitless
We went for a ride here yesterday for my mother-in-law who was 80 and a few of her grandchildren we would highly recommend it he was absolutely incredible the horses were amazing and my mother-in-law came back absolutely buzzing and wants to make it an annual thing thank you so much definitely recommend.
John was great and very patient! A few helpful tips and I was feeling much more confident on my horse by the end of the trek. Great views with some history thrown in. Thank you John!
