A visit to the aquarium this today to see the wide range of water dragons, fish, penguins, kiwi, turtles, sharks, sting rays and even divers! Friendly staff that were very knowledgeable. Plenty of clean toilet facilities, and a cafe and gift shop at the end. Highly recommended if you are passing.
Always a fun place to take the kids when in Napier although ours were more interested in the dinosaur exhibit rather than the marine life?. Lots to see including turtles and penguins, and you can watch shark and penguin feeding. There’s also a gift shop and a cafe.
Love the whole thing! So exciting to do on your own or as a group/family. The highlights are definitely the Little Blue Penguins, and Terry the Hawksbill turtle.
It's alright.... I just expected better room for some animals sea turtle in first place, blue penguins and other and a bigger building overall considering this is a "national" aquarium...
Entrance fee reasonable, $23 per adult. Signage a bit confusing which way to go. Got there in time for the shark feeding. OK, nothing spectacular. Well set out. Interesting exhibits. Depends what you like.
A great place to visit to see and learn lots about marine life. The feeding of the little penguins was out favourite!
Visited the national Aquarium when we stayed in Napier recently. Nice place to visit- we happened to be there during the feeding times so that was entertaining. It’s not a huge aquarium comparing to others like Ushaka in South Africa. Staff were friendly and attentive. Worth a visit if you are in Napier and you have little ones .
Fantastic place to take the family. Especially with a couple of little minds that were mesmerized with every different tank. And the traveling water tunnel was a nice surprise at the end of the journey.
