Wow, absolutely an amazing museum especially the war models/props looks even better in real life and the size and detail. Would definitely visit this place again in future. New Zealand is a great country. Luckily, we didn't experience the wind as it was a quiet day with good weather.
Te Papa is definitely worth a visit! The highlight for me was the Gallipoli exhibit with its incredibly lifelike, giant figures of WWI soldiers – very impressive and powerful. The museum also offers a lot of interesting information about local wildlife and rich Māori culture, including detailed replicas of their traditional dwellings. Don’t miss the Earthquake Room to experience what it’s like to be in an earthquake, and make sure to check out the observation deck for a great view of the city. Highly recommend!
AMAZING, is just one word to describe it. With my partner we thought we would spend just the morning visiting the whole museum, but it actually took us just the morning to visit only hall 1 ! And the whole day for the museum. The museum is well decorated with loads of kid friendly activities and overall great user experience. 100% recommend and hope to come again on my next visit to Wellington !
I was absolutely amazed and didn't anticipate such a remarkable experience from a free museum. The museum does an outstanding job of honoring and showcasing New Zealand culture. They provide a comprehensive introduction to the history of the country's founding, and also offer insights into the preservation of its natural environment, indigenous heritage, and much more. It's clear that they have a deep respect for their past and are committed to educating visitors about the importance of conservation and cultural preservation. The depth of information and the quality of the exhibits far exceeded my expectations
Wonderful!nA vast representation of New Zealand. Enjoyed every bit of it. Easily you can cover everything with in two to three hours, the more time you spend the more you learn. Entry is free, there are shop, restaurant so you can take a break and enjoy coffee. There are beautiful rooms with different themes so that you can sit and relax. There is an earthquake room where you can get a little shaking experience when it happens. Nice! I must say it is a must visit place in your bucket list.
