A nice moderate gradient, easy walk to the summit. Foot traffic only. There are a some steps along the career rim leading up to the summit. Nice sweeping views to Waitemata and Manukau harbours. Takes around 10-20 minutes to the summit depending on your fitness. Nice and peaceful.nWorth doing again as not crowded on a week day. Solid gate at the entrance to stop unauthorised vehicle traffic.
Short and easy hike, around 25 minutes to the top. The view of Auckland from up here is really nice. There’s a large open field at the top with benches—ideal for a picnic or just hanging out.
Nice easy walk up the mountain, not to steep.nOnce you enter through the gates there are trees and some of the trees have information about when they were planted. There are public bathrooms at the entrance. No bins at the top so keep your rubbish. Wheelchair able to go up the mountain road but won’t be able to do the mini path up to the top of the mountain. Really big field at the top to have picking or take your dog.
Although this isn’t a popular tourist spot, you can reach the mountain quickly by following the trail. The crater is covered with green grass and little yellow flowers, and it feels very comfortable lying on the lawn. From here, you can see the Sky Tower.
We had an evening walk in summertime. It was nice and easy with a good view.nA lot of people with their dogs are also a big group of walking groups from social media.nA short walk to get a fresh air and a bit fitness.
