If you're starting at Mount Albert Grammar, make the most of every moment. Not only so valuable lessons in terms of knowledge and academic subjects but life lessons as well. So many opportunities available as well as support from staff. When you're told ''join a club'' or ''contribute with some form of service'' I highly recommend you do. Even one or two things will make all the difference in school life. Put in as much effort as you can and the school will do the same in return. In these important crucial years, I couldn't think of a place I'd rather have been at.
Been here for 4 years and for the most part it’s a really strict school that many of us are unhappy at. Education quality is good if you’re lucky enough to have a good teacher, but the MAGS punishment tactics given by the senior leadership team and teachers are too backwards. If students were talking in assembly they will be told to stand up. Embarrassing a student in a setting like this is absolutely not a good way to handle the situation, it can put on a mood on them for the rest of the day. One of the most unfair punishments I’ve seen here at MAGS. x
MAGS was the worst school I ever went to. The teachers and deans are extremely racist. They treat the white people more with attention and lack to give the same attention to people of color, like black, arab, and islander. MAGS will call up your parents for doing the absolute smallest things. I've noticed many students that have mentally been abused by the words that the teachers give and the high expectations. MAGS hands out detentions for fun and they love to see students fail in class so they can call up your parents because they have NO life and want their fun in their life. MAGS is probably one of the worst schools, they do NOT care about you mentally only you academically. Taking your kid to mags is going to be one of the worst decisions you have made for yourself and your kid.
Had an amazing experience. The headmaster was a little too friendly through, he kept touching my butt and whispering in my ear during soccer practice. Our math's teacher let us play videogames, and taught us how to use kitchen utensils to make meth. Absolute unit of a man. He was also a dealer, but still drove around in Honda Odyssey. The hot English teacher advertised her onlyfans to her form 7 classes. The prices were a bit high, but we all chipped in.
The school is horrible... Many teachers say they are busy marking papers when the solution is not to assign as much also the principal has a pet velociraptor
We had a tour of the school the other day and all the amazing work that is done by the teachers and other staff is absolutely amazing the Children that go to this school are very lucky to have amazing teachers that dedicate their lives to helping these youngsters to learn about the World around us.
It’s been a while since I graduated here. When I attended it was run by an over authoritarian administration obsessed with sports and demanding way too much of their students. Some good teachers of course but in the end the school is still run like a totalitarian dictatorship. One star
Traumatised after seeing a male deputy principal with no genitals. More people than China crammed into a space smaller than a basement. Schools main purpose is sucking the soul out of its students as punishment for being late to school. Literally doesn’t have a tuck shop. Headmaster is in love with himself. Deputy principal is in love with the Headmaster. The bathrooms have security cameras in them so someone can watch you while you urinate and recently I saw the school take advantage of the starving children by feeding them sausages made out of the mud on the farm.
unfair punishments to students that are late, the environment is terrible and teachers care more about your shirt being tucked in than your actual education
Like to say it is a good school as I use to go there. Teachers will go out of the way at times to help out. Where as some teachers are under pressure they will shout at you. Great at Recreational and Sports. Also one of the high academic Education is provided here, clearly has set up examples over the times. Nice grounds , great school History and Heritage Overall, a good School Well done Mount Albert Grammar School
