Great staff, clean , but much parking and very limited covered in parking.but so close to town. Doors are thin in rooms. We could hear what was happening in the hallway at night. Rooms: Rooms had 2 good sized double beds, 50 inch smart TV. Windows with view in to garden area.clean.and great value for money
I have been to this place many years ago decided to stay here again. From a location prospective it's great only being a short five minute walk downtown. In regards to the facilities the appearance seems definitely run down. Regarding the rooms they were very clean and comfortable. The service was okay when you asked for something they were helpful but I wouldn't say they were very welcoming. Overall I would stay here again
At first I thought this hotel was near to perfection but after two days and no housekeeping, I'm changing my mind. The location is away from the main area but that helps with it being quiet. I really don't expect to have to ask for clean towels and make beds when on holiday. The service at breakfast drops off around 09.30 even though open until 10.00am. Food is good and plentiful.
Here with a tour group for four nights, of which three set dinners were done by the hotel in their restaurant. Despite the tour group pre-selecting their meal choices a couple of days before arriving at the hotel, the dinner service on each evening was a complete shambles. For example, on the first night... entree took approximately 40 minutes to be served, then the main meals another 40 mins later and finally desert. After sitting down at 7pm, coffee was finally served at 9:15pm. The other two nights were not much different. The slowness was just unacceptable, especially when the kitchen had the order list well in advance. Yes, there may have been 48 in the group, but it appeared that the meals were being prepared there and then with little to no preparing or cooking prior to our 7pm seating. Constant topping up of water glasses does not impress me either... it's a ploy to fill you up with liquid as a slow meal service takes place. But, I must say that the food was nice albeit on the very small serving size that you would see in a high priced multi Michelin starred restaurant. In general, the hotel was nice with comfortable rooms and clean well presented bathroom.
We stayed in a deluxe room and was pleased with our choice. The bathrooms were modern, large room size and the bed was huge and so comfortable. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The only downside to this hotel is their location being up a long steep hill. Caught a taxi from outside Cookie Time shop on Camp st to the hotel and it was $21.50 in peak traffic so dont recommend that
While this is a beautiful hotel in a stunning city, my biggest problem with the place is it has the WORST wifi service of anywhere i have EVER stayed. Very hard to get a connection that stays up for more than 30 seconds in the evening, unless you go to the lobby. Other than that, the rooms are beautiful and very modern, the breakfast is one of the best i have had during this 17 day trek around New Zealand. The staff is very attentive to any needs. It's just the spotty bad wifi that brings the rating down.
This place had everything we needed with a few caveats that might be useful for future guests: Location - less than a 10 minute walk to downtown. It was wonderful to be able to just pop down to get a pie or to meet folks for a meal with a 10 minute heads up! Keep in mind that downtown is at a lower elevation though, so there’s a steep hill for one full block, but it’s manageable if you take it slow! Laundry - Guest laundry is available, which we very much needed as this was our trip’s mid point. It’s self-serve though and costs NZD 10 for a full load including detergent, 45 minutes in the washer, 45 minutes in the dryer. They only have two washers and two dryers so I made it a point to get up extra early one day 7am! to make sure I had access to both washers. Parking - there’s indeed hotel parking, which is awesome for a downtown hotel, but spots are limited. The hotel does have overflow parking on Melbourne street, which has about 5 spots that we were always able to get in the 5 days we spent in the hotel. I would definitely come back to this hotel for future Queenstown visits!
We had a good size room with a big comfy bed. It was nice and quiet and clean. HVAC was good by Kiwi standards but poor by any other. You're not far from downtown but there is a serious hill between the two.Rooms: 4/5
From our Fantastic checking in experience with Sameer at reception whom is a credit to your Hotel, to the perfect service from your food staff and a room and most comfortable bedding and facilties, we simply could not fault our stay over our 4 days. Was a pleasure and we will absolutely return on our next visit from Auckland and recommend to family and friends Thanks again ! Rooms: Very comfy bed and aircon is Great Nearby activities: Handy to Wonderful Queenstown activities Food & drinks: Buffet Breakfast is Excellent choices many
Terribly outdated rooms and bathroom. Staff at front desk were rude on check-in. They insisted on a $50 extra charge that they held for 'incidentals' according to the check-in staff. The check-out staff told me it was in case I'd damaged anything in the room. For two adults staying for one night I was a bit shocked by this. Location is excellent but there are far better places to stay close to town. Don't waste your money.
