Manukura lives at Pukaha Mount Bruce National Willdlife Centre
Pukaha Mount Bruce is New Zealand's most successful wildlife and captive breeding centre.
Located on State Highway 2, 20 minutes north of Masterton and approximately 1.5 hours north of our capital city, Wellington a visit to our sanctuary is a must for locals and visitors.
We are set in 942 hecatres of ancient podocard (hardwood) forest and are home to many endangered native species such as kiwi, kaka, kokako and takahe. You will also see New Zealand's living dinosaur, the tuatara, when you visit.
Manukura the little white kiwi was born on 1 May 2011. She is not an albino but the rare progeny of two North Island Brown Kiwi. She is extremely rare and very precious.
