This school is not for people that struggle with their mental health but I will say it has some of the most supportive teachers if you're lucky, Mrs Shelton helped me through so much when I attended she really acted as my rock when I was at my lowest, same goes for Ms Moore she was another amazing woman that I look up to, they understood my learning style was different to other students and actually put in the effort to help me, much like every highschool kids are brutal and ruined the experience but these two made up for everything I went through
Very disappointing school. you guys smell like fish and you dont know how to do your job. get a haircut hippy.
I went to this college in 1993. My last memory was walking through the hallway. A teacher at the time acted in a racist manner and refered to me as "boy". I reacted by telling him to get out of my face and walked away calmly. He got upset because I would not stop walking away. I was suspended indefinitely even though I tried to explain my side of the story. I was a good student and was not a trouble maker or a bully. But was treated like one. I never went back and ended up enrolling into another college.
Wairarapa college is unimpressive. The teachers at waicol are a mixed bag. Just like any school there are good ones and there are quite a few mean ones. There are some teacher at the school who do a very good job at what they do and explaining things but a lot just seem to be struggling to keep up with the class sizes usually 25 to 30 which is a smaller in the private schools. The main issue I have waicol is how judgemental the students are. My classmates when I went there were quite rude I found. So much drama, gossip and mean spirited people. This is particularly bad for autistic and lgbt students especially trans students and if you or your child is either of those I would strongly advise you to transfer yourself or your child to makoura or kuranui college instead. The students their are way more kind and down to earth based on the conversations Ive had with people who went to those schools.
Henry ruined it for me. Wouldn’t go back
I was a student here between 2014 - 2017, worse school experience of my life, have a few stories of his teachers were like and how they handled bullies which is non existent
Saw 3 children IN UNIFORM passing around a VAPE! Was utterly upset with this incident and I would advise that the students should get a takling to with reference to this review. Expect an angry letter from Ulysses Wairarapa in 2-3 weeks
Saw 10 students having a sesh in the bathroom, I asked if I could join but they said no, very disappointed in their manners. Waicol needs to teach the students to be kind and caring.
I recommend taking your child to this school!!, if you hate them :
BRING BACK SHELLY!!!!
