Didn't take long at all to get there by boat from east auckland. A great spot for friends and for the family. Really kid friendly, a great big playground and plenty of open space for them to run around. Great music and a lively vibe. A nice selection of food and drinks, and if it's getting too hot, the beach is right there for a quick dip. Will definitely be going back.
This vineyard is a bit secluded thus a bit pricey. The cheese board was great though, cheese is absolutely lovely sourced outside the vineyard, the honey which was from the vineyard was amazingly good, the olive is quite strong also from them, the bread is lovely, the red is something else not bad thought but not for me. The white is good. Overall it was a good place to unwind and enjoy some company of friends or family. If you don't have a rental, call them to book for a shuttle.
Man o War is a must-visit winery on Waiheke, wonderful menu where there's something new every time we go, gorgeous location and knowledgeable and attentive staff. I would recommend booking, to insure you can get the whole experience! Restaurant, wine tasting and a walk along the beach. We'll be back next year!Service: 5/5
Lives up to the hype and well worth the drive. Incredible setting, the food was delicious and restaurant service was excellent. As expected the wine was amazing too. We unfortunately found the wine tasting service was too slow, and abandoned it halfway. Nonetheless, 5 stars as I have no doubt I will return with more family and friends.
Pleasant, but not spectacular. Lovely beachfront location, but so is half the island. Menu is very limited and a bit hit and miss - arancini was possibly the blandest thing I've ever eaten, heirloom tomatoes were stunning. Staff tried hard but simply had no clue about any of the wine. I got a comical rambling comparison between two chardonnays that ended up being nothing more than 'this one is usually more expensive than the other one'. I'd say it's not worth the drive, but the drive itself was beautiful.
A wonderful restaurant, perfectly located near the far end of Waiheke Island. A long dirt road takes you through parts of the 6,000ha of land owned by Man O' War before you get to soak in the beautiful view of the bay and enjoy one of NZ's best wines. They offer wine tastings no bookings required, lunch, a kids playground, and e-bike tours. A great experience to have on Waiheke Island.
If you visit Waiheke, it really is worth the trip out to Man O' War. I have lived in Auckland all of my life and visited the island many times, but I can't believe it took me this long to make the trip out to the other side of the island to check it out. It is such a stunning location, amazing food, great service & staff. Couldn't ask for more!
This place is worth it just for the drive in! Definitely one of the most scenic locations on the island and amazing to come and see. Unfortunately the Eftpos machine was broken and we didn’t have any cash. Will definitely make it back next time
Amazing venue. Right on the beach. Definitely worth the drive. Here I felt like I was on holiday. Very family friendly. Watched the kidos running around on the lawn, playing games and enjoying an ice cream. These photos do not do it justice.Location: 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, tasty food, alcohol a bit costly, but you pay for experience, right ? Worth it. 30 mins from Auckland very cool place to be for wine, dine and swim. Clean toilets, Seating on grass benches can be improved.Rooms: 4/5
