Love this stretch of beach. Far away from the main part of Mission bay. Great area for going for walks and having a dip in the water. Picnic with family? Or meet up with friends? Nice grass area to sit and lie down on, as well as available park chairs to use as well.
Ziggy the dog and I enjoy walking Kohimarama beach every single morning, a beautiful view and always friendly people and dogs. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
Such a beautiful clean beach at a beautiful part of Auckland especially in a beautiful summer where everyone can spend a day in the area or having a picnic is a great excuse to escape from the house
Fantastic beach with excellent swimming about 3 hours either side of high tide. Cold shower available, toilets, changing sheds, some benches up on the boardwalk, and some gorgeous pohutukawa trees to shade under. Much less crowded than the neighbouring Mission Bay and St Heliers beaches. Love this place!!
Lots of parking right by the beach, be careful when exiting vehicle as bike lane is right next to passenger side door. Tidy beach, beautiful views. Seating is average. More seating and picnic tables would be awesome. Lovely atmosphere, saw kayakers exiting, mostly people doing beach walks. You can swim there too. Nice and not over populated like Mission Bay beach.
Very busy during summer but is lovely spot to go for swim or picnic with the family.
Beautiful and accessible beach in Auckland CBD. Nearby shops, plenty of parking. Located between Mission Bay and St Heliers Bay.
When the suns out so are the cars .great place to sit and watch cars
A fantastic safe beach with a million dollar outlook reasonably close to Auckland city. Very scenic drive. Lots of family activity with kayaks & small boats launched from boat ramp in centre if the sweeping bay. Nice clean sand. Less busy than Mission Bay Beach which makes this a relaxing choice. Ideal for picnic's with shady trees along the pathway.
Best of the inner city beaches. Less busy than Mission Bay and deeper water and less rocky than St Heliers. It has a lovely board walk for strolling along and a classy brick changing shed, built sometime last century. It also has buoys set 50m apart for swimming lengths. Nice touch.
