Māngere Town Centre Library

Popped in for my dad loves to sit and read, staff are really friendly and helpful, there are few activities for kids, table tennis, even a piano. Actually the security guard there on the day, played a bit of classical music, my niece and i were like WOW ... Great place to chill, and if you want to use the pcs they hand out the visitors pass, and wifi is decent :

Chill vibes. Been a regular since I was eight-years-old. It used to be the selection of chapter books that drew me in, but now it's the printers, lol.

There is no one monitoring parking. People park on disabled parking with no permit. Today was the worst double parked blocking wheelchair ramp and my car which was parked disabled spot. Had to wait and call around but still no one could find owner. Security helped to get me out. This has happened to me on numerous occasions.

Had to go do my washing and in and out of the laundry dried fold basket. Got coffee and apple slice yummy

Staff enjoy peering over to watch you as if you need baby sitting. Not very professional.

Very good and helpful staff. Everyday they have community outreach programmes, cv making, driving class preps, job hunting help and much more... Always lively embracing the true spirit of community care. Sadly misused by lot owing to the location.

Dropped off a book, and 10 days later got a shock as I went to get books out that I was charged $34 fee for a "water damaged" book. NO phone call or email from the manager of this library, to let me know of this issue. A DECENT and PROFESSIONAL "manager" would've at least emailed or called! I have no idea how this book was "water damaged" because if it was me, I would've went to the staff and told them, not leave a damaged book in the slot. I have been a library member for years and this has never happened before. Why did it take 10 days to upload this fine on my account and not get one phone call to ask about what happened or if I knew anything about the damage! SMH!! Update 24/04/19 I did go in and speak to the manager of this library who claims the book came in "wet". Again..I had no idea if this was the case because when I placed it in the slot it was not wet! I asked about why the fine was loaded 10 days later? An excuse about renovating the library, which I wasnt even asking about. Omg. My lesson is to check books before ever taking it into the Mangere Town centre library. Wouldnt want an unexpected fine, that you have no knowledge about, to suddenly be put on your account from a "manager" that doesnt even message/call or even email you to let you know. Ridiculous!!

Friendly and helpful staff who answered all questions that I had, advised me on how to go about with everything, a quiet library as it should be and has a huge selection of books. Has free WiFi and many computers free to use for anyone interested.
