Welcome to Little Savanna, one of life's little pleasures.

Story

Our journey is one of two cultures, whose passion for food is shared. Little Savanna is the bringing together of our cultures, where mouth-watering seasonal food has been engineered. We have a zest for fresh seafood and unashamedly love meat, particularly those cuts that are flame grilled, which sets us apart in the Manawatu. The finest and freshest of New Zealand’s ingredients are sourced and prepared for you here at Little Savanna.

For those of you who have South Africa on your bucket list, the Little Savanna experience will give you a taste of South Africa with the best of NZ service and produce. Catering not only for those of you who love meats and seafood, we are vegetarian friendly too and also have gluten free options.

It is our duty to make your experience with us an unforgettable one by providing you with the trifecta in dining – sumptuous, generous portions at great value with outstanding service, all in a wonderful setting.

Such a pleasant surprise! We didn't know about this place and saw it driving by. The meat platter was incredibly delicious Chicken wings, steak and ribs, all prepared in a different way with 2 different sauces on the side, keeping your taste buds excited all the way through. Excellent service, beating any expectations. Incredible attention to detail. The atmosphere and decor definitely add to the experience. Even the bathrooms are stunning and have small rolled up cotton towels for drying your hands - a little bit of luxury. If you want to feel a bit spoilt and have a special dining out experience, this is the place for sure. We look forward to going back again to try other items from the menu
Attentive staff. Great service. A delicious meal, very meat oriented menu but this is what they are famous for and advertise. There were still some delicious vegetarian options. Only improvement I would hope for, is at least present wine that is being charged at $22 in dry freshly cleaned glass!
Had a wonderful dining experience here but sadly didn’t take too many pictures. The staff were exceptionally friendly and gives no pressure. They allow you to look through the menu slowly. The food was so good that even though all 6 of us took different dish, I only managed to take a picture of my steak! The vegetables that came with the steak were beautifully cooked such that they maintain their original freshness and sweetness. I can only give many thumbs up to its chefs!!! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for western food in Palmerston North. I also witness the whole team of service crew bringing out a piece of birthday, singing and shouting “Hip, Hip, Hooray”s to the birthday “man”. Such a heartwarming sight!
Highly recommended by our daughter. She booked a table and took us for dinner. It was such a wonderful experience. We all enjoyed the drinks. Steak, ribs and lamb are all good. Excellent customers services.
It is such a great place to celebrate a birthday. Jamie, treated my partner like a queen as it was her birthday . The food is second to none as well as the cocktails. Maaaate, this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long while. The staff were top tier - super friendly & on top form. The rosebuds were sooo yum and a good decent size! The food was flawless and dessert was the goods too.
Absolutely stoked with the food, quality of service and chilled environment!!! I had the pork belly and my husband had the lamb rack which he said was the best lamb rack he's ever had. Both were just amazing!!! Thank you to everyone at Little Savanna! We will definitely be back!!!
Wife's Mediterranean veggie grilled sandwich was outstanding. My bunny chow had great flavor and plenty of meat but unfortunately fell short in the spicy heat department and was more like a flavourful Stew. Not a good old Durban bunny for sure! However great location, vibe and service were excellent. Will be going back for sure.
My partner and I went for an early dinner on the 22 Oct 2021. Our server, Alex, was very charismatic, spoke clearly with a mask on and was very informative as well. We had ordered four drinks, two mains, a starter and one dessert. Everything came out very fast but we did not fell rushed at all and we were shocked that it was still so early when we left, very time efficient. Excellent service, shall definitely go back in future and recommend to friends and family.
My partner and I love going to little savanna! The service is just outstanding and the meals are absolutely Devine! It’s our favourite restaurant.
