Really nice Malaysian restaurant so far. Every dish we order is incredibly delicious. I have attached the receipt for what we have eaten.
If you’re looking for authentic Malaysian food, I would recommend going elsewhere.nnThis restaurant used to be my favourite, but unfortunately the quality has changed. On my most recent visit, the curry chicken had nothing but saltiness — no aroma, no depth of flavour at all.nnWhen I asked about it, I was told the ownership changed about six months ago. All the staff are now Chinese, and although they said the chef is still the same, the food clearly isn’t.nnThis was my last visit. Very disappointing to see a once-great place lose its authenticity.
No wonder this place is packed on a Monday night! The hainanese chicken rice tastes divine with a shockingly low price. The chow kuew tiao was massive, i had to take half home and there’s a few more deals. Not to forget the BYO option as well. Love!
I recently dined at Langkawi Restaurant in Auckland and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was bursting with authentic Malaysian flavors, and the service was warm and welcoming. I ordered the **Hainanese Chicken on Rice** and the **Banana Prawn Laksa**, and both dishes were outstanding.nnThe **Hainanese Chicken on Rice** was a standout – the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, perfectly paired with fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth. The accompanying sauces ginger, chili, and soy added layers of flavor that made every bite a delight. It’s a simple dish, but Langkawi executed it flawlessly.nnThe **Banana Prawn Laksa** was equally impressive. The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with a beautiful balance of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors. The prawns were fresh and succulent, and the noodles had the perfect texture. Every spoonful was a comforting explosion of taste – it’s easily one of the best laksas I’ve had in Auckland.nnThe portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was thoughtful, making the meal feel special. The restaurant itself has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and the staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great experience.nnIf you’re craving authentic Malaysian cuisine, Langkawi is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes from their menu. Highly recommend the Hainanese Chicken and Banana Prawn Laksa – you won’t be disappointed!
Unbelievable cheap for an amazing food and service. Truly a hidden gem and highly likely no other restaurant can compete for the value you are getting.... regularly travel from Orewa to here for the best!
