Food looks good but the taste begs to differ. Bought two pies a sausage role, coffee and a cold drink. Price came in around $28 which seemed a bit high. Pies were very jelly and pastry wasn’t the greatest either. Ended up throwing it out after a few bites as the taste was unbearable. Definitely not worth the money!!
Food is decent here but I had an unpleasant interactio with one of the staff. I'd taken some photos of the food to send to my wife who was breastfeeding our screaming son in the carpark. He got upset that I needed to 'ask permission', even when I explained what I was doing twice and my wife needed some food but couldn't come in. He didn't show any understanding though and kept going on about people 'stealing' his menu.
Definitely not a patisserie by any means. Croissants inedible, all the Baking has that horrible “lard” texture and taste which makes you feel nauseous afterwards. Bread is white fairy bread . Coffee is good and staff friendly but there are way better bakeries than this. Good artisan bread available at market every Saturday.
Great place for breakfast meetup - good coffee and good food.
Very lovely place! They make a fab lamington, and the meat pies are just amazing. Definitely recommend a try.
Lunchbar bakery, handy for all the tradies passing through..
I visited again yesterday. They make the best coffee in Matakana. If you like steak pies, their steak and Guinness pies are nothing short of fabulous. There is a good selection of cabinet food, catering for many choices of delicable sweets. The staff here are extremely friendly and you are always made to feel welcome.
Average to fine: If you're really hungry you know what you're getting the pies are nice but not prize-worthy. Hot Chips were $7 which was shocking, and they weren't special. The brownie was good but not compared to Tramcar or MMK. If only they would make fewer things of better quality, it would suit the Matakana market. If you are gluten free there is not much $7 chips? you can eat here. Reasonably friendly service, but they should be looking at what Tramcar does for inspiration.
Quite a large place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of food. Toilet also available
Lovely coffee .very nice date and orange scone but think the kids play area could do with some upkeep, there was a broken wooden chair in the enclosure while a little lady was trying to sit on it
