Amazing food, great vibes and good location. We got the Sicilian chicken, eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, and chorizo with salad. All the dishes tasted amazing, and were cooked well and fresh. The cocktail selections were good too. And really good service. Can’t say enough about this place. Thank you!
We came here twice on consecutive days. The food was amazing, the menu huge, the brownie was stunning. The service was second to none. Great place and fully worth multiple visits
Three of us turned up for lunch and what a great experience we had. Our server, a wonderful lady who had wit and charm, settled us at our table and looked after us wonderfully. We enjoyed duck tacos, the seafood chowder and the baked brie. And we shared a punnet of chips. The food was really top knotch. Even the chips that are such a mainstay of dining out in New Zealand can often be very poor. These were crisp, non oily and flavoured so wonderfully with garlic that really elevated the humble chip to hero. The outlook was nice, looking out over a small inlet with ducks playing on the water. Parking was easy. Very highly recommended.
Fabulous place. We booked the day earlier and lucky to get a place. We had some drinks and shared a starter, main and dessert. The quality of the food and the service was fantastic. We had a nice walk up and down the street post our dinner. The place is a little tricky to find but nothing major. Highly recommended Parking: Spots downstairs and on the main road. The location is downstairs
Beautiful setting and beautiful food! It was so good we dined in here for Breakfast and Lunch. Tucked behind the Matakana Markets along the riverside, the outdoor setting is tucked under a shelter and surrounded by plants. Very relaxing! The food was divine! Can highly recommend the Avocado on Toast and Seafood Chowder. Very accommodating staff who gave great advice for visiting the area.
This place came highly recommended. There was indoor and outdoor seating available, the outdoor seating faces a creek, offering a very relaxed atmosphere. Nice food presentation, taste wasn’t anything exciting. Was a bit disappointed with services, very lukewarm.
One of the best restaurants in Matakana New Zealand. You can find Sri Lankan prawn curry with rice and sambol. The selection is massive and delicious. Have separate menu's for brunches, breakfast, lunch and dinners. Hope to go back there again someday.Food: 5/5
Beautiful view of the river. Great place to have brunch after a walk in the market. Delicious macaroni. Wagyu rib with purple rice is very average. The purple rice is also hard as raw. The kids 3 courses meal is very good value for money.
A quiet little corner of a quiet little place, eating on the terrace by the river or inside with the modern decor makes it a great atmosphere. We arrived mid afternoon and they had space but it had previously been full as it's so popular. The food and drinks were fresh, tasty and really well presented. Portions too left us all feeling satisfied.
Visually, great spot with a nice backdrop of the river. Pricing & Food, fair and affordable. I ordered the seafood chowder which was good size serving, creamy and fair amount of seafood. Ordered the 3 course kids meal, fruit salad entrée fish and chips decent sized fish pieces vanilla icecream and chocolate sauce. Which was also fairly priced. Service upon entry: I felt the lady on the entry table could be more approachable and at least make it feel like she wanted to work there or serve us. We were given menus and seated, however I felt rushed and like it was a drive thru situation. She could definitely do with a pep in her step. She failed to ask us how we wanted the kids 3 course meal, which resulted in me asking another waitress if I can receive the fruit salad and main at the same time. Regardless that this waitress was seated right behind us we were not served or approached by her after handing over the menu’s and taking our orders, which I’m actually grateful for as she definitely left a sour taste during our brunch experience. If our initial waitress had put more energy into her service and not acted like she had better things to do than serving us, I would have rated this place better. However reading another recent review below, it makes sense why she was not very welcoming to my son and I
