Went here spontaneous weekend away, and I didn't have anything booked. Rang them at around 8.30 pm and didn't get through, but they rang me back and asked if they had a room for the night and managed to get a room, which was amazing for that time of night. Got there, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly . Rooms were what you expected for the price but it was clean and windows were open so nice and aired out when we arrived. The shower did take a bit of time to heat up, pressure was average, and only had dispenser soap. The floor in the bathroom is beautiful but absolutely freezing on your feet. Got some milk when we checked in for a coffee or tea, but when we got there, there was only sugar. Their was a jug with a few different options of glasses, mugs and wine glasses. Didnt have any bowls or a sink only sink is in bathroom. Has a sky box which was good and has access to movies. The heater was also lovely as it heated up the room really fast. The electric blankets were also great and and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was from 7am-9am continental was $18pp. All in all you get what you pay for but was happy with the stay and the staff were friendly.
Loved our stay, the view from our room was amazing. The room itself nicely cleaned and it was so cozy. It was a cold night and we had a heatpump in our room to make the room warm to our liking. Service was efficient and friendlynLocation is primo. I recommend a stay or 2 here anytime of the year it's so close to all amenities as well. Top place.
we checked in late and went directly to get dinner. when we got to the room for the first time, i found a clot of dark hair i'm a blonde on the bathroom floor - meaning the bathroom floor had neither been swept, wiped, nor vacuumed before we got there.nanother dark hair on the bathroom sink. there were stains on the bedding and another dark hair on the pillow.nin the morning, we discovered left-behind clutter underneath the beds that did not belong to us.nfor the price i do not expect a private hot tub, but i think a clean room is not too much to ask for.nnwhen we notified the staff at the front desk while checking out, we were told we could have contacted the night manager to be moved to a different room. my concern is - shouldn't guests be made aware of after-hours contacts for cases like this?nwhile front-desk staff was kind, both during check-in and check-out, we were unsatisfied with service overall, as we feel guests should know which number to call in cases like ours, and if those numbers can be reached after hours - which we did not and had no way of knowing.
Absolutely loved our stay here. Very reasonably priced, location was perfect for us, spa pool was a nice surprise, the team had impeccable service, looooved the room service as the kai from the restaurant was delicious although gutted it wasn’t open on Sunday night as I was so looking forward to ordering. The buffet breakfast was a nice touch but only scrambled eggs no poached etc so only went once.nnThe place is very clean as well plus quiet! It was very busy but we rarely heard from other guests. When I come to Taupō from now on, we will just stay here as it ticks every box.nnThanks team!
Was booked in by my company manager he must be on a budget. Very old and run down resort style accommodation. Lumpy bed no aircon and with the temperature in the region at 30 plus degrees aircon would be good there is a small fan but not really up to it. Tv only has basic sky no movie channels or any of the good stuff. Really old TV it's like taking a step back in time. Rubbish left in the bin disappointed. I would not stay here again.
