My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Lake Taupo for two nights and were very happy with our stay.nnThe hotel has an older, historical section and a newer section. Our room was in the newer section, and was very nice. We were on the first floor and had a patio, which was surrounded by hedges, which gave us privacy when we sat out there. The other floors had balconies, which were separated by partitions for privacy.nnThe hotel is located within a ten-minute drive of the beach, restaurants and shopping, and also has a restaurant on site. There are also tennis courts on site.nnThere is secure parking in an underground parking lot for $25 per day, or you can park below the hotel in a gravel parking lot. We chose to park in the unsecured gravel parking lot which has a sidewalk leading up to the hotel and had no problems.nnOur room was very nice with a king-size bed, a large bathroom, and a small refrigerator. The bed was quite comfortable, and Hilton has the BEST pillows of any hotels in which we have ever stayed.nnWe would definitely recommend the Hilton Lake Taupo if you plan to visit Lake Taupo!
We had a lovely stay at Hilton Taupo. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff are nice and professional. Special thanks to the Duty Manager who made us feel truly welcomed. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are great. Our room didn’t have a lake view but it was nice to see sunrise above the hills from the other side
Great spacious 2 bedroom apartment, with lake view in the distance. Large balcony.comfortable beds.nLocation: you will need a car to reach the town area.nWe had an issue with the food quality and service at the restaurant, our package is inclusive of the breakfast. However there seems to be confusion amongst the staff, what is included in the package. Some tried to charge us for coffee. There was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant and 1 manager. So obviously they were super busy and service was very slow. The I ordered the waffle, it was dry, hard and burnt in some parts. There are better cafes in town, safe your money and go there instead.nOn the upside the pool is nice and warm.
We had a lovely stay here! Beautiful view, great rooms! We were assisted by Andy and he really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, he took the time to show us some sights we should see and anticipated our needs before we could even ask for help! All with a friendly smile! He really knows customer service!!
I can only give this hotel and OK. What I did appreciate was the location. It was easy for me to get to many attractions in and outside of Taupo. The parking was convenient and fairly priced. The continental breakfast was below standard for what I’ve experienced at other Hilton‘s and you had to pay to have any hot food at all, which was disappointing and I chose not to. The response time from the front desk was slow and because of it I ended up eating a very cold dinner that had been delivered. On the positive side the room sizes were large, and the casting ability was great. The noises were unacceptable after hours and it also took a while for people to handle that. I’m not sure what other options are available in the area, but I might consider looking somewhere else. I chose Hilton because of Brand loyalty, but was a little disappointed by the recognition of honors members.
