These red feathers therefore became revered as being prestigious or precious.Kura Gallery provides access for locals and international visitors to quality contemporary Maori and New Zealand art + design through well established & highly visible art spaces located in Wellington and Auckland. We value the authenticity of works from our Maori artists and operate as a licensed stockist for ‘Toi Iho’, the mark of authenticity and quality for Maori arts and crafts. Superb place, great staff, excellent mix of creative ideas and some real gems

A wide range of genuine nz crafts and art

Amazing pieces covering a wide range of genre and media. A great starting point to see a wide range of NZ art.

Quite a small yet packed gallery, there appears to be some very nice items in here. Unfortunately a Sunday for me, another couple already in the gallery. The assistant spent around 20 mins studiously ignoring me. I'll have to find somewhere else for a first time visit rememberance.

Authentic and quality Maori art, jewellery and  homewares. Dont go here if you want cheap tat as you wont find it here. Also staff are lovely and helpful. It pays to give yourself time to look around as doing a couple of laps around the store you keep seeing new things.

Eclectic collection of Maori art and jewelry. Great place to find unique things to bring home- pounamu is very nice and lots of nice wood items. Worth a visitml

Wow. Unique regional art. Perfect for someone who likes unique items for their home.

Kura Gallery has the most amazing Maori art, jewellery, pounamu greenstone/jade and other items, and while quite expensive tourist prices it has a wide variety to choose from.
