Kelvin Hotel Invercargill

Did the job for a one night layover. Definitely wouldn't stay here for a holiday. Although the staff were lovely, my two biggest grievances were that there was no air conditioning in the room and the rooms are not sound proof. Woke up at 7am to doors slamming from other guests checking out, which kept up for the next couple of hours. Overall though it's fine for what it is.

Though we didn't book in here, we were told that the cocktails served here was on point. So we took a short 5min walk from our accommodation at Langlands. The cocktail lounge and bar area has a great atmosphere and very comfy seating. Music was a mix of 80s 90s. Views out the windows of the streets below and some light renovations made it very relaxing. There is an area for Karaoke nights! The lady serving us provided some local knowledge about Invercargill. Drinks are priced fairly and tasted really good! When we return to Invercargill this is a place we will definitely visit again on a return trip from Australia. Great service and drinks! Walkability: 5min walk from Langlands Food & drinks: The drinks...mmmmm Noteworthy details: Atmosphere and relaxed feels.

Okay for one night but the room was certainly tired and in desperate need of modernisation. No air conditioning which pretty much turned the room into a sauna with the afternoon sun. The restaurant though was good with friendly staff. Again, okay for one night if you’re on a budget but any longer then go round the corner to the new hotel.

The rooms are awesome, customer service is on point. Everything is awesome except. . . The only thing that needs an update is the heating system. It's always on heating and you can't change the setting. Summer there would be terrible.

It was ok the restaurant wasn’t open due to a public holiday but there were guests so an effort to open would have been good. Ended up in public bar being harassed by local drunks fun fun! staff did not seem to mind they kept harassing us when they could see we were clearly uncomfortable Rooms were nice - parking available Prices high for a public bar and off course surcharge for guests !

Room where nice. Found a broken hairdryer but still can use it and the toiletys had spilt at the top so I throw them away. Great water pressures in the shower. Bed was comfortable the view was great. Service at reception great . Hotel meals yummy. Located in Central invercagill. Easy walking distance to many shops and cafas. Would go again.

Big room with great views, a tad dated but clean, tidy and with all essentials. Heating but no aircon, parking organised with garage across the road and staff were polite and helpful.Rooms: 4/5

Clean, tidy, warm, gorgeous sheets and pillows. Slept 12 hours and needed a late checkout because of it. Could have stayed in all day snoozing. Once we figured out where to park it was easy. Walked to paknsave. Pokies if that is your thing but not for us. So cheap after being in big .city. $140.Rooms: 5/5

Had the 3 x bedroom penthouse on 7th floor, so very roomy, well appointed and great location, handy to centralRooms: 5/5
