Food is really good and at good price, love the fact that chips are actual fried potatoes and not the frozen ones they serve in pubs. The staff is fantastic and very polite. Strongly suggested.
The flavour was good but the portion size was small for the cost. The middle of my haddock was missing and I assume they've cut the bones out instead on boning the fillet. All in all for the price it was disappointing. Nearly £14 for large haddock and very small chips.Food: 3/5
I wouldn't usually write a bad review, however. I have just paid £9.50 for this! It's ment to be a regular size cod and chips absolutely disgusted by the size of this portion for the price I have just paid. Soggy batter just stuck to the bottom of the box. Chips are alright but when I asked for sauce, they were happy to charge £0.39 pence per sachet. Such a shame. I won't ever be coming here again, doubt my custom will be missed, I just don't want anyone else falling for this rubbish!
I didn't enjoy this place when i first ordered over a year ago however I thought I'd give it another try recently and honestly I am so glad I did. The fish was beautiful and the chips where fresh and real chip shop chips! Not the rubbish most people give you these days! Great portions for all of us, kids included and although slightly more expensive than the average chip shop well worth the money!
Service 5/5, food 4/5 Gill served me and was very helpful when I asked dietary related questions - she made sure to get the nutritional info booklet and double check all my queries, and further to that was delightful in nature. Chatty and friendly. Food was high standard, veggie option “spicy” bean pie isn’t very spicy but is pretty tasty. Onion rings, chips, and mushy peas - all great standard. Nice large seating area if you want to eat in, plenty of parking spots, and properly sized ramekins of Ketchup if you ask for them! : Vegetarian options: Veggie options available are Veggie Burger & Butter Bean Pie Parking: ~20 parking slots at a guess
Gill was our lovely waitress. She was welcoming, friendly, relaxed but professional. I had cod and chips. The cod was AMAZING. Fresh, soft, melt in the mouth. Absolutely delicious. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. Worth a visit
Not been in years and had heard it was not as good. Well I can tell you that it most definately was. I asked for a sausage and curry sauce and only a few chips as not a big chip lover. All I can say is my plate was cleared with only a few scraps of chips remaining . The atmosphere was lovely, and Charlie and Laura were so accommodating. Would def recommend.
Got served by a young lad, Charlie. Great character, great customer service. Fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were delicious and fresh. Best I’ve had for a long time.
Brill staff and excellent food sue wS our waitress and the way she made us feel at home was excellent the whole.staff need a pat on the backs and now that they come to the table again that is great too I noticed they have a special.event on the 2nd December which is cheap fish and chips for 2.00 I believe. Once again 10 out of 10 for both service and food Kid-friendliness: Have a kids menu and seems great Parking: PRking is outside of shop and I think there must be about thirty spaces Wheelchair accessibility: Main door is easily accessible and most of tables are on ground floor so easily situated for wheelchairs
Went here the other day after not going for a while and it was absolutely brilliant! Wasn’t sure how I would take to it after the change in management but I have nothing bad to say- food and service was wonderful, much better than it used to be that’s for certain. Can’t extend my thanks enough to the staff and manageress for making it a great visit.
