My name is Francis Conrad, I am a Te Aupouri Weaver from Te Kao, I come from a long line of maori weavers where I was taught by my nanny Kerewai Conrad starting at the age of 7 along with my mother, sisters and cousins who are also weavers, each with our own unique style of weaving.
I am currently based in Waihi where I run my successful business from home which enables me to balance home and work life nicely.
I weave contemporary pieces from flower arrangements to the traditional kete while also stocking other maori art pieces that I tinker with.
You will not only find me at my shop located at my house but you will also find me at different markets around the Coromandel and Waikato areas as well as attending my favorite festival of the year the Waitangi Celebrations at Waitangi.
