It's a alright school I had great teachers there like Adam and some other teachers only thing I did NOT LIKE was health but other than that it was good
I used to go here but now I am in college. A year before I went to college I quickly dropped out and moved to a better school. This school dose nothing about bulling. No punishment to the kid what so ever. And hey way the glasses worked are awful. Taking off your shoes before entering almost any room, locking the bathrooms and the hallways making it impossible to get a drink or something drying morning tea and lunch, I remember it’s year 6 a boy used to pick on me and then it became physical he bashed me in the head with his fist. I assumed something would happen but nothing did the teacher talked to him and then let him go as if nothing happened. These are the reasons why I am giving this review and rating this place a one star.nI would just like to add more about my experience here. In years 7 and 8 aka 11-13yr the teachers began to teach us about sex. I was honestly disgusted about how they were teaching me and other students about this at such a young age. They talked with girls AND boys about one another buddy parts such as periods and other stuff. They even taught us how babies are made. I never expected this type of learning until the end of high school or even university. There was also this box where anyone could ask ANY questions about one another’s body parts and the teachers would gladly explain it to us. And they posted photos of me and other student doing our class work reading or anything really and they posted it onto their website. Imagine your kids being on the internet and they are not even aware a photo of them is being taken.nnPlease if you want you kid to have an amazing time, amazing friends, and NOT get picked on I suggest you send to them to a better school like St Teresa’s, Karori normal shut anything that is not kwns
I don't know where to start. Ever since Janice left the school fell apart. Bullying is never properly delt with so it happens a lot. I went into high school with inadequate knowledge in many subjects. Students were forced to do things against there will such as cross country or kapa haka. No real improvement to the school ever since Janice left. Alright tech blocks and a few lovely teachers. Over all do not send your kid here unless you want them to have a bad time.
Looks like something is very off with this school and has been for sometime judging by some of these reviews. I personally know of bullying by kids and teachers, and when parents complain, nothing is done.nKids are having to leave the school to find something better. But sometimes the kids have to take a class there from the school they go to, and teachers have been singling them out knowing they left Karori West for better teaching etc.nThe principle and the school board need to look into what's happening. Maybe ministry of education too.
