Story

The Karori Recreation Centre offers many sport and recreation classes, activities and sports leagues that cater to a wide range of age groups, from babies right through to seniors.

We offer:
- A variety of preschool music and activity classes catering from 2 month old babies right through to 5 year olds
- School holiday programmes
- Birthday parties
- Miniball league (School Years 5 & 6)
- Basketball league (School Years 7 & 8)
- Kiwigym gymnastics classes (5-12 yr olds)
- Basketball clinics (9-12 yr olds)
- Karate classes (school age)
- Yoga
- Tai Chi
- Adults circuit class
- Ezy movers class (aerobics and weights class)
- Gentle movers class (for people with lung and heart problems)
- Antenatal groups
- Weight watchers, arthritis classes
- Classes for school groups of gymnastics, raquet sports, ball sports and athletics

The facility is available for hire for:
- Badminton
- Squash
- Netball
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Casual time
- Pushplay trailer hire

The Karori Recreation Centre also runs a very popular school holiday programme and basketball clinic holiday programme. It's also a popular venue for preschool and school-age birthday parties.

As well as the gym, we also have two Community Rooms, which are available for hire. These are often hired for classes, birthday parties and meetings and is equipped with full kitchen facilties, tables and chairs.
