Great beer and delicious food in a beautiful setting - what's not to love? Add in your friendly, helpful staff and this place is damn near perfect. We visited twice on our weekend mini-break and loved it. Best calamari we've ever eaten, as others have said! The simple system of QR code ordering made this a very easy place to while away some time.
Lovely beer terrace and atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Great beers, the beer flight/paddle board is a must. We didn't order food but we saw people getting pizzas and they looked incredible. The cocktails were also delicious.
Had a lovely experience here, the staff were super friendly and we had some great conversation with them. All of our food was great, but the calamari was just incredible - really recommend it to everyone! Just such a great balance of flavours, honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten. Will be back next time I am in Christchurch.
First impressions...My partner and I walked in to have lunch and a guy named 'Richard' had booked out at least 3 of the available tables. Damn Richard, save some for the rest of us. A bit 'off putting' but the early worm gets the nice tables I guess. Jokes aside, we ordered meals see photos and the best thing was the chicken. The beef brisket was horribly dry but somehow looked moist. The kumara fries were obviously cooked from frozen which is expected BUT once served, they were all still clumped together. It happens when you freeze food. So you had to break the pieces off to get a mouth sized bite. Time for a fresh batch of kumara fries maybe? Atmosphere was perfect, nice and warm. Service was okay but it did seem like they were only interested if you ordered drinks. Yes, this is a biased opinion. When we went to pay, the ordered items weren't read out nor the receipt offered. And let's be honest, is it rude to ask them to read out your order? I'm not too sure. Overall, it's a 3.5/5.
I really love this place, the environment, beers and the menu. But, please… not everyone like spicy food, so much pepper in pizzas and fries are inedible because are so spicy hot. I don’t know what is that red thing in fries. You should ask if people want hot food or not. I really will back here, but just for their beers, no more food ever again. Spicy food = they will sell more alcohol. PS: Check your bill before you left
such a cute place, love all the greenery. got a free birthday pizza you can sign up on their app so that you get a free pizza voucher for your birthday month and also tried the kaiser's consort cocktail highly recommend, both were so so good!
This place was the perfect stop after a long day of walking about. Stopped in for a beer and several "small" plates. Amazing food, cauliflower was the best! Lina was our server, really believed in us to finish all the food we ordered, total rockstar! Highly recommend!
Mixed feeling on this place, its a cool venue with nice décor and the food tastes great. The beers is average, not bad but not something id go out of my way for. Finally for the price portions size of the food is on the smaller size and the beers are only 425ml so it works out to be one of the most expensive places to get a drink in town.
Could not fault it, the food flavors were well balanced and the protein was cooked to perfection, the service and ambience was warm, relaxed and friendly..my partner and i will be back on a regular basis. A must visit destination in christchurch
