Japan Mart

Great to see New Zealand is getting more Japanese products and was especially excited to be able to buy mitarashi dango however definitely still a bit expensive. Still I think it’s worth it, and will definitely be back.

Huge Japanese store in the heart of the city. Hard to find parking , but ok for a Sunday. Heap of fresh Japanese food for all pockets. There is a small section with after the best date products with decent products still edible with a great price. Some cleaning and beauty products are sold there as well. Worth a visit.

One start is because of the variety of item selection. Rest is just poor customer service, it is hard to have an basic standard of Japan customer service. It is like once out of Japan, there is no customer service. Write email /talk online at Facebook, no help first plus waste time. typical reply about blame on system but refuse to help customer servicekiwi style, which is a shame for a title of Japan.....we all know how serious that Japanese about customer service, but once move out to NZ do as NZ seriously? Is this really run by Japanese operation or by other countries? Terrible online customer service!! The shop name shall change to Pan Asian Mart not Japan Mart as you have no idea what Japanese basic customer service. this is a stealing, just think to sell some Japanese items and you can call yourself a Japanese mart?

Friendly and accommodating staff members who are providing great service. Their prices are reasonable with a good range of products. Parking in the area is very-very challenging so it's better if you either walk or use public transport.

It's not a huge Japan Mart but it has what I like...miso, noodles, frozen fish roe, seaweed and furakake, rice snacks. The instant rice porridge is too $$$ make your own!
