Story

What's it all about?

The IronKidz Triathlon is all about participation. It's about getting out there, having a go and achieving a personal best and having a heap of FUN.

The event is open to everyone aged between 7 and 15. To complete the event, competitors complete a swim, following by a bike ride, followed by a run. You can enter on your own - which means you swim, bike and run (in that order) - or as part of a team of three, which means you swim or bike or run. You are also able to enter as a team of two. If you enter as a team of two, one of you will do two of the three legs (swim, bike, run). Your choice!

There is an event for the younger ones: the Splash and Dash is for 5 to 7 year olds, it consists of a paddle in Lake Taupo and a short run along the lakefront. Children do not need to be able to swim and parents can accompany their child if they wish. There are no medals for this event, however each child will receive a small memento of their participation.

It is the responsibility of individual participants to have their bike and helmet checked and meet safety requirements prior to race day.
