The rooms are okay. The mattresses are thin and you can feel the metal bars. There's a strange smell in the common areas but the kitchen is really nice. Could do with some new elevators but this being a back packers it's about what you'd expect . It's an okay place. Very different from when I first stayed there round 2016 or 17 but still okay. The location is probably the thing that makes this place worth staying at
I found the atmosphere very calming. Despite its location opposite Wellington railway station!nOur room was comfy, shower was clean, and just enough space to open suitcases, etc.nBeautiful sturdy building in art deco style.
The worst hostel I’ve ever been to - do not recommend staying here at all.nThe rooms are tiny, the beds seem to collapse any minute and the bathroom walls are covered in mold but worst of all is the smell of the rooms. The mix of vomit and expired cheese is just unbearable and together with the ancient windows that won’t open properly staying here for more than a night seems impossible.
Rooms ok,just something to sleep on not flash but fine.Activities outside is walkable.nHelpful staff.nExcellent location.In front of railway station,sushi side of railway.Mcdonald and subway is just beside.
Booked a private room with an ensuite. Used to stay here years ago. Its an old building. Recommend ear plugs. But its cheap, central and was clean and has everything you need.
