I was there two nights. Owners are very nice. They live in the next building, in the same area. Feel safe even I went there alone. The room is very clean, furniture, kitchen equipment, bathroom equipment are very good, especially bed in my room and la-z-boy armchair in living room. I love it. Location is perfect. You can walk around here to the Waitomo Glowworm Cave, Waitomo Zipline, cafe, i-center, playground and especially if you come here by bus intercity, it is very convenience, bus stop is just, ~200 meters to Kiwipaka. Environment is good, fresh air and very peaceful place here. Hope I can comeback here again someday in the future.

This is a great affordable spot to stay. Very friendly staff! We accidentally booked the wrong date for our visit and the staff were accommodating and king helping us sort out our stay. Peaceful atmosphere. Shared kitchen/microwave/eating area. Clean and comfortable rooms.
You’re going to visit glow worms in caves so why not add to the rustic experience by staying in ultra clean refurbished cabins? After a pretty crazy twisty drive from Wellington through the mountainous jungle forest, we arrived in pitch black around 10pm. The stars were MAGNIFICENT!!! Had I not been so tired, I might have sat on the porch a bit or gone to grab a drink in the lodge. Our cabin was simply furnished with everything we need. Super clean queen bed, small fridge, tea kettle, glasses, shelf and hooks to store everything and most important the bathroom is spotless with great water pressure. Nice touch with the matching cushion and painting. Unlike us, do give yourself enough time to enjoy a coffee on the deck to enjoy the morning country air. The only suggestion is to maybe close the gap at the bottom of the shower.
I found the refurbished queen chalets to be very comfortable. Nice light decor, lovely bed and very clean. Not lots of frills such as bathrobes and face cream that you don't really need, but the price reflects that. Also friendly helpful service. I was very satisfied with my stay and would stay again
