Hot & Spicy Pot

Having visited several self-serve hotpot places across Auckland, Hot & Spicy Pot is a solid choice. It's comparable in terms of value ~$50 per kg and quality. They offer a range of expected ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles. Additionally, you can choose whether you'd like your dish dry or with soup. I opted for the soup version, and while the spice level was good, the broth lacked the kick I tend to prefer. That said, it might be ideal if you prefer a milder flavor in your soup. The wait time was minimal ~10 minutes.nnIt would be helpful if the ingredients were better labeled, though being familiar with them made this less of an issue for me. However, I can see it being problematic if you're unfamiliar with the types of ingredients commonly served in hotpot restaurants. If you're unsure or find it challenging, it's probably worth asking the staff for assistance.nnThe venue is a little crammed, probably not the easiest to navigate if you have accessibility issues.nnAs expected in self-service establishments, the service is minimal, but the staff at the counter were quick and efficient. No complaints there. Overall, a solid choice.

Mild spicy soup is literally watered down boiled water with a dash of chicken stock. Mad pot is much better compared to this place in terms cold ingredients, soup selection and quality. The restaurant is also not very clean. The only place in NZ where I wanted to ask for a refund

I visited here again with my partner, as we often do. After work on Tuesday, we arrived around 8 pm, and despite the usual crowd, we managed to find a table.nnThis time, we ordered Maratang, a hot and spicy soup. My partner, who knows how to make it taste just right, prepared the broth for us to share. The addition of instant ramen was perfect, and the mild spiciness was just what we wanted.nnOverall, it was another great dinner experience. We highly recommend this spot for mara, especially the soup - it’s a favourite of ours.

Locates along Dominion Road, signage easily spotted. Pick the huge varieties of fresh item from the chiller, then proceed to the cashier to pay by weight. We ordered a big bowl of stir fry dry mala to share. The taste is good and fresh.

This restaurant was an experience! We got to choose to our different ingredients for our bowls and choose the spice level for them to make it to. I got the less spicy option and it was really yum!! My friend got the really spicy one and i would definitely recommend reassessing your spice ability before challenging it cause it was on another level! I will have to say that the service was quite poor and they aren’t very suited for allergies and other dietary requirements. We even experienced other people leaving because they were unsatisfied with their order. I think the seating is okay but a little squished and some of the bowls they gave us weren’t very clean. The cashiers weren’t very kind as well but atleast the food is good and flavourful.
