A must in Russel. A great spot with great pizza and the best beer selection in either Paihia or Russel. It can be confusing at first. There is no table service or anyone at the door so once you get in, you need to find a table for yourself and seat yourself. There are menus at the front at the bar and the main queue is to order food. If you're just ordering drinks, you can cut to the left of the big line.
Beautiful place the decor and vibe makes up for the fact that there is no sea view, excellent service, staff was new/inexperienced but the manager was doing such a great job, we were attended by different staff members, each one of them made us feel like we were the only ones there even though it was quite busy. The pizzas were delicious, copious amounts of toppings and the base, so so good!! Even the gluten free base was delicious. We also tried their Tiramisu and Profiteroles, I highly recommend you leave some space for dessert as it was VERY nice.
Top notch service and quality food. The calamari was on point and could be eaten even without the Tartare sauce. Good selection of drinks also! The pizzas came out hot and fresh and a good blend of taste in the parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, caramelized onion definitely unique place to eat. Will definitely come back here for more!
This is a must visit in Russell. We loved it so much we went twice. Best place ever for great food and great service. The garden setting was so impressive and enjoyable, plenty of outdoors seating but always popular for good reason!! Food is so fresh and delicious!! Well done Hones Garden
Just go there! Gluten free base was the best ever, friendly young staff were so helpful, cool vibe at night. Kūmara fries were exceptional, wife rated the fish tacos 10/10.
Such a great setting! We went twice in our week at Russell. The gardens are gorgeous and in the shade are a welcome retreat from the scorching summer sun. We including kids 14&11 enjoyed the food and garden. Second time, the waiter was so cool.
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Lots of plants. Perfect for plant lovers. Eat the pizza. It's good.
Wood fired pizza was delicious and plenty for two to share. We also had the rocket and pear salad and the kumara fries which were a highlight. Lovely outdoor atmosphere and the team were super friendly and helpful. Also dog friendly which was nice.
Prawns, rocket and burrata pizza. Had fresh oysters as well. Good selection of beer and wine. All outdoor dining covered and dog friendly.Food: 5/5
Great pizza in a beautiful setting attended to by friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and I will return one day, when/if I get back to Russell
