Loved the name and play on words. Sadly the fish was overcooked and dry, and the chips lacked seasoning this is subjective, however we were pleased to have packed our own salt. As many reviewers have mentioned, this is possibly the most expensive chip shop in the South Island. I don't mind paying extra for quality, and this is something the business can work towards.
Stopped by this little fish and chip shop and had a great experience. We ordered burgers and chips, and both were delicious. The burgers were tasty, with fresh ingredients, and the chips were cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The shop was clean and well-kept, and the service was quick and friendly. A great spot for a tasty, no-fuss meal. Highly recommend!
Not the best fish and chip we have ever had, but it's okay for a short stop if you are driving by. I can see that people are complaining about the price, but I found that $12 for a small package of fish & chip seems reasonable especially when comparing to prices in Akaroa and Kaikoura. The place is clean, not so busy, and they even have seatings outside which is a bonus on a sunny day. The taste is neither perfect nor too bad. It's alright!
Punishing size portions. Don't stop here of you want a feed.nThat was a scoop of kumara chips and two fish, inc fish of the day & elephant fish.nOver $20 over the counter.nOnly if you're famished and can't make it to the next stop.... otherwise skip on by
Honestly never been more disappointed in a westcoast fish and chip shop.. 6 dollars a scoop that is no bigger than your hand and chips themselves are that thin you'd be lucky if there was a potato or two in it also 6 dollars for a peice of fish that is over cooked and the lenth of 4 fingers wide. Total rip off
