Hopefully can be fixed soon, as tourist check-in point. nnIf you are driving caravan@motorhome, can stop by for a break, having high tea while enjoying the wind and sound of natural@wave.
Aside from Hokitika Gorge, this is definitely the landmark of Hokitika. In front of the beach sign, there's Hokitika Beach Armchair, a 2005 concrete sculpture by Veronika Maser, making it even more photogenic and interesting.nnMade famous by social media, this had become a must visit tourist attraction in Hokitika, making it very difficult to get a moment without anyone else taking photos with the sign. So, be patient and wait for your turn we did, otherwise, come early or late in evening for sunset.nnNearby there's a public toilet and parking available by the beach.
We really enjoyed walking the waterfront, even though the weather was miserable. A must see if you are travelling this way.
