I could write an essay on how boring these assemblies are. We aren't potatoes or the grand canyon so stop comparing us to them. Useless and pointless time wasted. Saying not to be late to class at every assembly won't make people scared. And having a silver dot in my ear isn't going to make me a bad student. Also, Ros, try and be into the kids learning a little more and make them feel like youre intersted in their learning! lastly, cherrith. Crack a smile for once aye
Have had 4 children go through this school over the last 12 years and have been very happy with it on the whole. Cannot comment on the current principal but the previous worked hard to bring the school to a very respectable standard.
Heard that this school doesn't protect its students against bullies and blames those defending themselves as the instigator and suspends them instead. I would think twice about putting money in the hands of those that don't look after my children
This school gives me PTSD!! Everytime I drive past it. If you want to cause your child severe depression send them to this school they will definitely help you out with that
To be honest, i feel like the way the kids were treated was quite unfair. Due to the previous history of henderson high being full of gang members and mischief, the new principal mike purcell has tried to restore the image of the school by getting rid of those who caused the school to bore the name. However, that was ages ago. One of our school rules was no going to the mall. Doing so will land u an after school friday detention. This rule will never make sense to us as it is a place where everything we would need would be attainable to us e.g food, shopping. Also, racism seems to persist in the school. I noticed how when a person that isnt white gets in trouble for e.g having a fight, they get expelled whereas when we had a white boy light up a firework in the school toilet which caused it to smoke up and almost made the building catch a fire, he barely got anything for it. This made the school environment very toxic. The kids they seem to take in r mostly priveleged and were the kind to laugh when the call of prayer in tribute for the muslim victims was played. I know many students who end up leaving. Honestly the ncea passing rates dont matter when your own child doesnt feel safe in the school environment with people mocking stuff that shouldnt be mocked. Ive known people to be mocked for being depressed n suicidal. Trust me on this ur childs mental health is so much more important than the grades they will achieve.
How wrong is it to tell a female to lower her skirt so she won't upset an male. How 1900's. You are so wrong Cherith. A males behaviour is his business. Its up to him to moderate it. A woman never 'asks for it'. Whatever are you teaching your girls? Huh???
its an alright school, there are a few issues with bullying and teachers picking on students, some of the teaching practices also need to be changed to better suit the students, apart from that its okay i guess, the school provides students with an education but there are better schools out there, if possible then don't go here
I went the the open night and a very helpful kid was in the wood work, I think he said his name Riley. so thank you.
Was here in 1995-1997. Julie, Ian.. a very memorable moments. Sadly that the reviews are rather bad now.
horrible school no reason to send your children here. The fact that the teachers have favourites and the people who are not favoured will be basically put in a pit
