He Puna Taimoana was an absolute highlight of our Christchurch trip. It’s only about a 15-minute Uber ride from the city, or you can easily catch the bus there as well. The setup is incredible — soaking in a 39-degree hot pool while overlooking the beach is such a relaxing and breathtaking experience.nnEverything was super clean, modern and really well maintained. The staff were all genuinely friendly and welcoming which made the experience even better. We also really liked that sessions are allocated with a 30-minute clean-up period between each one, which helped the pools feel fresh, organised and not overcrowded.nnDefinitely worth visiting if you’re travelling to Christchurch.
It was a great surprise to come to this lovely spa while I was in Christchurch. It was a basic public bath experience, but the entry fee is reasonable. The water is healing, the steam room was hot and spacious. The view of the ocean and the option to cold plunge into the sea was spectacular. I would highly recommend ending a beach day here with warmer weather. I loved the winter soak at sunset! I had lovely chats with friendly folks and they have a very helpful staff.
This was an excellent experience! The changing facilities were spotless and had plenty of heating, the pools were the perfect temperature with great views and the staff were friendly and respectful. Having to book your session also meant there was plenty of room for everyone there. I couldn't have asked for better.
Had a lovely time here. The facilities and pools are very clean with multiple temperature options. The view from the ocean facing pool is lovely and although this pool and the facilities overall were busy during the booked out session I attended 5:45-7:30pm I didn't feel it was too over-crowded compared to other places I've visited. There are cheap lockers, life guards keeping everyone safe, and clocks at several locations so you don't need your phone on hand. I'd definitely return.
The hot pools here were delightful on a cool and overcast morning. The plunge pool took my breath away literally and figuratively quickly followed by the steam room to warm my soul. The bathrooms were clean and tidy, the staff friendly, and the swimsuit dryer was a godsend. Thanks, He Puna Taimoana for a wonderful morning on our quick visit to Christchurch.
