What a fantastic meal. We started with the mutton bird pâté with pōhutukawa jam and cheese, which was delicious with subtle flavours that worked really well together. The creamy pāua wontons were crispy, rich, and absolutely amazing.nnWe were lucky enough to have Haylee, the owner and head chef, come out for a chat. She was so welcoming, and you could really see the passion she has for the food she creates.nnThe fresh fish of the day John Dory was excellent, the blue cod was cooked perfectly, and the mussels were some of the best I’ve ever had.nnThis was an awesome dining experience from start to finish. If you’re in Bluff, it’s well worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back!
Couldn’t recommend this place enough!! We decided to take a drive out to Bluff to have an early celebration lunch for my nan’s birthday. The food as per usual was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing! The owner/chef Hayz and her team were so warm and welcoming, she came out to greet us personally and have a little korero with my Nan around why she does what she does! She continued to go above and beyond by surprising my nan with a beautiful birthday dessert after our meals. It made my Nan feel so special and my family truely appreciated it. Thank you for such a wonderful experience Hayz and the Team, we’ll definitely be back!
I had an absolutely wonderful dinner here. I ordered the salted tītī which is a seasonal special and it was delicious. The dish came with mashed potatoes and a blueberry vinegrette which paired great with the bird. The plate also included prawns and 3 huge fresh mussels, and some sweet jelly. Overall it was delicious and reasonably priced. I also tried the sticky date pudding and house rosé, and both were good.nnService was fantastic, the staff and owner Hayz were all friendly and welcoming. This is definitely worth a visit if you're in Bluff :
Absolutely fantastic, can't rave about it enough. I loved everything about it. My birthday as well and got spoiled rotten. Learning the history of the restaurant and knowing that it was passed down through the whanau. Also having the privilege of meeting Haylee Chanel Simeion, award winner who owns and operates the restaurant was brilliant. Thank you we all LOVED IT.
Omg what a surprise. The venue looked very ordinary but there was nothing ordinary about the food. It was a culinary delight together with the story telling by both Haylee chef/owner and very knowledgeable waitress. Locally farmed Paua, mutton bird and blue cod was on our menu. Everything delicious and presented with pride and style. Never expected this from Bluff. Don’t miss a meal here when you are in Bluff.
