I must say I was quite impressed with this airport food after an year of living in the UK. The vegetarian ramen reminded me of Mr Donut ramen + lots of fresh vegetables, the avocado in the roll was very creamy and the seaweed aromatic, and the Inari was plump and juicy without being soggy or overly sweet. I wasn’t convinced the “sushi” was actually sushi =vinegar flavored rice though. Couldn’t taste any vinegar…
Got the Chicken Udon which came out suspiciously quickly, and I can see why. The chicken was drier than a desert, and honestly, the seaweed was the best part of it. Use your money better at a different restaurant
Shockingly bad. Broth was basically just coconut milk and the noodles were extremely mushy and bloated. Chicken was also unavailable at 3pm
Ordered a chicken laksa and after paying I was told that chicken wasn’t available, only prawn. I said that was fine and after a 25 minute wait I received my order. I can honestly say I was very disappointed. The broth had no depth of flavour and the only vegetable to accompany the 2 minutes noodles and broth was a sprinkle of spring onion and 2-3 bean sprouts. To top it off I was told that there were no chopsticks or forks available and the stuff suggested that I use two spoons… Staff were pleasant but do not recommend.
We ordered Pork Udon, cost NZD18, extremely salty and no other flavor at all. Watery soup with only a bit of udon noodle and a few slices of pork. It probably cost them $1 to make it. Not worth it, go somewhere else.
Seafood laksa, wasn’t expecting much but had a weird taste maybe used the same jar of red curry paste you get at the supermarket for red curries?! noodles were I’m pretty sure maggi 2min type, seafood wasn’t off but had a strong smell so not fresh. $21 for what’s essentially a revved up indomie 2min noodle bowl
Ordered the chicken noodles. Disaster. Tough, tasteless lazy. Expensive and misleading at best. Traded down to the sushi. Worse. Hard rice. Nasty. Couldn’t eat it and nor would they. Avoid. I wish I had read the reviews.Food: 1/5
Sushi didn't taste like anything, not even like rice, and that was AFTER adding soy sauce and ginger.
Grabbed a couple of sushi packs to take on the plane for dinner from Hayama. It was perfectly fine. They have a pretty good selection available, at reasonable prices - for the airport. The service - best I don’t go there...
Hayama sushi at intl terminal was the most horrible experience on March 14, 2023 at approx. 11.00 am: sushis badly rolled, seeweed obviously far to be fresh crispy, and, a thick black hair in the box. We both were sweating horribly, were dizzy and had to thr... up, while on airplane. What a horrible experience!
