Story

Harry's grew magically from the site of the Wellington's famous Seatoun Fairy Shop in 2008. Now Harry's casts it's own spell as a dress shop of affordable luxury. Like your best friend's wardrobe, you can try on different looks, receive honest friendly advice from fashion loving staff and have fun at the same time. The focus is on colour and femininity from leading local and international labels.

Own label, When Harry Ran Away, was launched in March 2010 to offer affordable Italian Riviera style in luxurious silks, wool, Italian or Swiss cottons. New Zealand labels include Juliette Hogan, Ingrid Starnes, Tanya Carlson, Standard Issue, Caroline Sills and Scope. International designers include Velvet, J Brand jeans and Clover Canyon from Los Angeles, Day Birger from Copenhagen, Odd Molly and Hunky Dory from Sweden, Ba&sh, Stella Forest, Leon & Harper and Mesdemoiselles from France.

Harry's offers unique items wherever possible. Many pieces are in one-off fabrics or are one of only a few, so you can create a wardrobe that matches your own special style.

Owner Liz's naughty but much loved family dog, Harry, was the inspiration for the store. Today his ashes sit in an urn on a shelf beside a little box of fairy dust from Dorothy, the former fairy shop owner.
